The problem isn't just one thing or another. The game has been out for almost a decade, so people that play now had more than enough time to learn how to play the damn game. New players have learning resources now available that players in S1 could only dream about (youtube/guides/ TRAINING MODE). This sets an expectation that players care enough before even setting foot in a normal/ranked game to utilize them and at least have an idea of how to play a champion or control their chosen lane. Thus, players that feed have failed to meet reasonable expectations and essentially waste the time of others. This is a huge slap in the face to players that actually care about their performance and hold themselves to a standard.
The balance team is on fucking crack. This accentuates the pain points from the previous statement because there is very little someone who enjoys playing a certain type of champ or playstyle can do when it is outside the current meta. I was a Nasus main before everything was thrown into the blender. Sitting in top lane, minding my own business and locking the enemy top laner down with the threat of losing objectives quickly if he/she were to roam elsewhere. After a certain point, I would notice that the rest of the team went 3/16 or some shit and the game was all but over. I can't do that anymore without signing a free loss on my end as well, so I picked up Trynd/Aatrox/Jax. The game is no longer enjoyable to me because I can't play my doggo.
And I continue to hold myself to higher standards because I know I can always do better. It's insulting when other players can't do the same. After a certain point, I snap. Thus, toxicity.
TL;DR: Don't insult other players by wasting their time when you can't play the damn game. Especially when you have more than enough resources available to improve on your own. Riot, I'd recommend random drug screenings (or at least share what your balance team is smoking).
