Serious question

Would you guys rather have a full team of positive gold players or a full team of really toxic diamond + players for a tournament with a huge prize pool.

Interested to see your thoughts!

Considering a tournament with a huge prize pool is likely to kick out or heavily fine players for unsportsmanlike conduct;

The positive gold players. At least I wont be banned from future tournaments and fined.

well considering the diamond players are going to tilt off the face of the earth and int so we lose to punish me for being me...

Gold. I have a better chance of winning.

Is this truly a serious question, or just another one of these dumb "thinly veiled insults using an absurdly loaded question/false dichotomy" posts?

Either way, I'll give you the straight answer:

Positive Golds, every time. For one, as others have already mentioned, having a bunch of toxic Diamonds is effectively like having a group of Irons in terms of coordination. They're all going to be flaming or doing whatever other nonsense over the most hilariously small slight, so, all of their skill isn't going to avail one much if they're just gonna waste it on being toxic.

Second, positivity can help morale in general, and any decently positive team is going to have decent morale and have a good feeling chance of winning the game.

Third, assuming this Tournament has any shred of logic to it, playing with the Golds is going to be - for me - the logical best course of action, since my current highest Tier (albeit with the caveat that I don't aim higher) is Gold V, so keeping myself in a bracket that isn't two whole tiers higher in skill level than I know I'm capable of is actually going to give me the highest possible success chance.

'Cause if I just went with the Diamonds thinking "oh, lol, toxic Diamonds is just a fancy word for 'winner'", I'd wind up playing against people who are probably a fair mile better than I am, and my abilities would not in any way help the already disfunctional team of raging Diamonds.

So, TL;DR? Definitely the Golds, both because the actual odds of winning with Golds is theoretically higher than the Diamonds, and because enjoying the game and the people I play with is just as important as winning, so I'd rather have whatever hypothetical "snowflake loser" jab from you than deal with a cesspit of shiny trash with the supposedly higher chance of winning.

You may now remove the paper-thin veil...

Is there an equal chance of winning, regardless (since it's League's matchmaking system, it should be). If so, I'd pick the gold players.

But really, is it too much to ask for the best chance to win? Or at the very least, to have a good time when I'm playing League?

Gold. The point of this game is to have fun and improve together. If these players are toxic regardless of their tiers, then that beats the whole purpose of this game. This game is meant for entertainment, not a fucking job resume.

A team full of toxic players? Clearly you have no idea how and why people act toxic. I know because Ive been called toxic in most of my games but people fail to realise I want to win and when I see a teamate building badly or doing bad plays I get toxic as in any where you go, go outside and play a game of football, soccer, basketball with a bunch or random guys and start playing like trash, you bet your ass you are going to get flamed If you continue to make dumb mistakes, what makes this game different? we all want to win right? if you get your feeling hurt from ''toxic'' comments in this game then you must be the little kid that sits in a corner eating and crying alone in school.

This type of posts are a clear example that you all wanna be white knights want to demonise toxic players when in reality we just want to win and play with teamates that can make good plays and also want to win not just have fun imma just build whatever and if I lose oh well.

I pick the diamonds 1000%

Unless I'm high plat or low diamond, the diamond team prpbably isn't going to have me on their team.

  1. you should make a poll.

  2. the answers will be skewed if you post it in Player Behavior.

  3. i would chose the really toxic diamond+ player in a heart beat.

id take gold. positive teammates=better communication=better plays.

toxic teammates=bad communication=poor plays.

in my eyes anyways. im just unranked lmao

I will answer a different question than the one you asked.

If there were a giant money tournament, and I was going to bet on which team would win, would I bet on a full team of confirmed toxic diamond+ players (at least two perma'd accounts) or would I bet on a full team of confirmed pleasant players (no punishments ever, less than 3 valid reports per year as confirmed by Riot) who are gold?

I would bet on the toxic players to win.

Before you say, "gotcha", let me explain. The toxic players WOULD NOT ENGAGE IN TOXICITY during the tournament. They would really want to win, and not just pretend that it is their goal. They would not ever int to "punish" a teammates misplay. They would not even ? ping their teammates, as small as that is. They would not fake an engage to bait a teammate into diving. They would focus chat almost exclusively on objectives. They would not pester their teammates to surrender.

So, what does this say about toxicity? This would say that even the confirmed toxic players KNOW that toxicity hurts your win chances. They only act in that manner when their fragile emotions override their desire to win.

If the Diamond rankers are against the golds, they won't be toxic anyways. They'd just be laughing at how ez the game is.

Though I guess they can BM the goldies in /allchat, and probably end up getting punished by tournament officials in some form or another.

The goldies will probably go into the tournament knowing they won't win, but want to try it anyways. So their goal really isn't to win, but to gain experience.

So by your question, because we are picking a team to win, then picking the diamonds would be the right choice. Since the other choice doesn't involve them winning.

Then again I'm sure this is one of your other threads to confirm that the snowflakes on the boards would rather be positive than win. If that's not your motive, I wonder what is the real meaning behind these posts of yours.

Could you imagine if Michael Jordans teammates refused to pass the ball to him the entire game. Then they all apologize and hug and make up at the end of the game.

The first

Didn't we go through something like that? Like, just now?

MasterDClone10/14/2018, 6:08:59 AM1 votes

wait are they all strangers, cuz if they're my buds il take them because they're both gold and toxic, but if its all strangers il take the toxic people cuz it feels a lot more fun when people are flamming each other

Pelopas10/14/2018, 6:41:56 AM1 votes

toxic diamond - I'd rather win in any situation
