An Appeal.

I've been playinng this game since s2. I've trolled, I've been trolled, I've been punished and I'm not the nicest person. I mention my time played, because in all the time, all the trolling and punishments, I either took my lumps or brushed it off. But recently I've been punished, I feel, unjustly and I want an appeal. I probably won't get one, but it's the principle.

I've tried to keep my gameplay positive the past few seasons even in the darkest of troll hours. At moments I question my sanity for doing so, but I try any how.

I received a chat ban from a game where I supported, with a positive k/d/a. The mid TF whined all game about not being shielded enough. I too regret that I don't have infinite cooldowns and global range, but he was obnoxious. It got to the point where everything was my fault in his eyes, and of course nothing was his. I didn't flame, I didn't name call. I don't even think I got mad or swore. I stated facts and tried to appeal to his reason, and when I couldn't I abandoned trying. Did I have fun? Did I laugh it off and joke? Am I cynical and sarcastic, with a dark and dry roasted sense of humor? You bet. I tried to make positive out of a negative. At the end of the match, I even reported him, stating it was a good game otherwise, this guy was just butt-hurt about everything and whined too much, confident he would receive punishment.

How is it, he goes scott-free and I'm punished? Did anyone even check the chat log or watch a replay? How is a report determined? Democratically? I suspect he was playing with friends because a few jumped on his bandwagon despite the obvious. I know it's free-to-play, but isn't someone accountable?

Again, I suppose I'm upset because I genuinely put effort in keeping it positive despite bronze hell. I get rewards all the time, for being positive, compliments from other players and honored frequently, so I don't understand how, in the same breadth, I am penalized when I did things right and the other was in the wrong. I'm really soured over this experience and I mention and post it, because it is the grossest case of misappropriation I've experienced in all my time playing.

I appreciate that you are trying to keep it positive despite the interesting characters you come across. You can post screenshots of your cards if you want to talk about that. In the meantime...

"How is a report determined? Democratically?" No. There's is no report voting or anything like that.

"How is it, he goes scott-free and I'm punished?" Well, first off, you don't actually know that. And even if he didn't receive a chat restriction, that does not mean you both were treated unequally. To illustrate:

Let's say players are restricted after getting a certain number of points in a player moderation system. 20 in a certain number of games as like the other response wrote "Punishments are determined based on severity and consistency." (This is for an easy example, the details are not intended to be an accurate representation). If the TF is whining so much and in such a way that he violates the standards, he gets a point or points. If he is at 14 points whether by being less frequent with this behavior or by playing less games and you are at 19, you are both treated equally by getting points. If you would get a chat restriction and he would not, it's because you crossed the threshold in this particular instance, not because you were being treated unequally. And again, you don't actually know whether or not he got a restriction.

Punishments are determined based on severity and consistency.

You also can't be certain the TF didn't get a chat restriction themselves as the notification for punishments is inconsistent at best.

Everyone is held to their own accord, so the "he started it" argument is pointless. If you want community input, you need to post your chat logs
