I was suspended for defending someone who was told to "kys"

Look, I know I am a usual toxic player. I am starting this post, fully understanding that I have flamed multiple people based on picks and misplays. With this stated, I have never went to the insane momentum of telling someone to "kys" or " kill yourself" as the abbreviation stands for. While I was on thin ice with my account, I was maintaining a sensible filter on my chatting and just enjoying a normal game of league. The enemy pyke, with a user name along the lines of , decided to tell our midlaner to kill himself. The enemy ekko and I immediately jumped in, explaining that telling some random person to commit suicide is not okay. I am assuming the nature of the discussion is the reason I was suspended, but if that was not the case, I would like to know what led my account to be suspended. I really wish to know why explaining someone that telling another random person to commit suicide is wrong, whether legal or not. Oh, I really want Riot to respond to this with, " You should just report him at the end of the game and stay out of it in game chat."

Defending yourself is taking action to prevent harm. In this word only environment we have here that would be the mute button.

Retaliation is attempting to harm another as you have been harmed. This is what you did, and it is against the rules.

WhatIsLag: quit being a %%%% and own up to it like a human

You did not defend yourself.

##This is a note that I have removed the Summoner Name from your opening post, as we have a rule against calling out other players by name.

While I'm here, though, I'll chime in with some thoughts.

{quoted}WhatIsLag: quit being a %%%% and own up to it like a human WhatIsLag: law or not, it still makes you a %%%%

This is not defending yourself. This is using an fairly offensive insult to attack another player.

Compare to the legitimate expression of outrage, which IS okay when you just do it once or twice.

WhatIsLag: pyke what the fuck dude WhatIsLag: that isnt okay

Your problem is that you crossed the line from "shock + asking him to tone it down" to "insulting him back."

Did you take it too far though? Post your chat logs and we can maybe help identify where the line was. Or if you repeated it, even like, "Don't tell people to kys", would probably trigger a false positive.
