Will I get banned for arguing with people who are extremely toxic ?

Hi guys, I am new to the game, I recently reached level 30 and I love the game. However recently I the ammount of toxic players has been rising for me, my friends told me told that you get banned for that of course, but also some of my friends got banned for arguing with them (not flaming back, just arguing). Today I played 4 games, in all 4 my teammates were EXTREMELY toxic, wishing me cancer, death upon my family and callimg me idiot, r%%%%% etc. just for playing Sion support. In last 2 games I had 2 premade turkish children (saturday op) who flamed me non stop, so I got really mad after all those games and started arguing with them, calling them children and imature, and I asked enemy team to report them about 20 times literally (which is also bannable, so says my friend), I mean those kids even flamed on all chat in front of everybody. I hope I wont get banned for nothing, I never insulted anyone like calling them moron,idiot,r%%%%% etc. , maximum was calling them children and asking for report, but my friends told me that if you get reported couple of games in a row you will get banned nontheless, even if you didnt type. I really dont want to get banned just because I tried to defend myself from toxic people... Do you think I am in risk of being banned ?

EDIT - I just got banned, this is so stupid, I get wished cancer but I am the one who gets banned for trying to defend myself, I quit this game, I loved it but now everything is ruined, I cant get hextech any more, or anything. I hope your company gets destroyed RIOT, you punish innocent people for nothing.

Ask yourself. What does arguing with them actually do? What's the point besides fanning the flames?

Also, yes in that scenario, you could get punished, so would they.

Arguing with other players, regardless of circumstance or your opinion of them, is unsportsmanlike conduct, a violation of the terms of use and is subject to moderating action up to and including a ban. Consistent arguing with players and taking your issues with them to allchat degrade the enjoyment of the other players in the game so it is considered to be "toxic". Your own behaviour, arguing, insulting, and threatening reports, is itself toxic behaviour and if you do not desist in the future it is possible that you will be subject to a ban.

This needs to be clarified: Players do not receive disciplinary action just because they get reported a couple of games. The reports need to be valid.

However, not typing does not mean that a player cannot be punished for what they _have _ done.

YES, I was banned and the reason they gave me was "arguing with teammates"

Look at it this way, a toxic person has the same right to report you as you do them. In short if they are able to tilt you and cause you to become toxic yourself and are playing with a friend or more or can even get the other team to report you it now becomes a point of who got reported more and for what in any case both of you will become/can become punished either way so why bother even saying anything to them. I have my own issue with something of the sorts resulting my own account being banned after dealing a skype team trolling myself and me taking measures to troll them back or get even as it was just myself reported, unsure if the other team reported them or not in either case like your-self I was punished and got a notice that on of them was as well...so its a double edged sword really. if you come across toxic people, its just best to mute them quickly and dismiss anything they say as an effort to troll you. :)

Yea its a possibility that you can get punished along with them

Yet all of us at one point are likely to have said a couple things back to a flamer ( I'm guilty of this myself ) I tried to defend my adc from my jungler and ended up getting into a heated argument with him

I know its hard to do with but just mute the player or ignore him ( Possibly document the crimes he is committing with a video recorder ) then aftergame in your report put the link to your video ( This makes it easier for rioters to help you ) and list everything he did

That feel when Sion support is actually pretty good...

I've had my falling out's with toxic people before, but in the I've gotten like 3 reports since season 3 which was when I got back into League, and one was for saying "ggwp" (I literally only said that one thing the whole game) after completely destroying a team back before dynamic queue was a thing. My advice is keep it to a minimum, mute them if they get too toxic (trust me on this one, you might think they may have something useful to say later on, but they don't, they'll most likely be flaming all game long), do your thing and at the end report them. No need to get upset at kids nor risking punishment yourself.

Think back in school how many teachers or even the principal actually gave a damn about how much a student likes studying there or who's at fault when two students fight? For me it was zero. Whenever a fight between students happened, whichever was the aggressor didn't matter, the school policy was play nice or fuck off.
