Permanent Ban

Today I got banned, after almost 7 years of playing this game. I believe I played more than some employees spent time working in Riot. I had unstable connection, and disconnected. I reconnected after 5 minutes, and then 2 players start flaming me telling me I'm going to get reported, I'm an idiot etc. I, having anger issues, responded. But, I got banned, for offensive language. I can't explain how hard it is to comprehend losing one's time and money investment because of an imperfect system created due to inability to handle the shear number of complaints with human resources. I think there are these rare cases where permanent ban should be reconsidered for given players. My offense had always been aggressive communication that is disrespectful. I understand this is a guilt on the player's part, but I think a more appropriate punishment would be for Permanent CHAT BAN, and not GAME BAN, as trolling / intentional feeding was not the player's crime. You don't solve something by permanently banning. I can't even remotely explain the depression and anger that results from such actions against players. The "Idyllic" environment of League of Legends can't be achieved by banning people using a system that takes into account shallow indicators by players in game. It's the gameplay of some players that initiates this cursing, and unfortunately there is no way for a computer to detect these purposeful trolling unless it is simple in nature "Diving to tower after respawn," etc.

I ask for flexibility in the player Judgement / Punishment system that could be so unfair at times that the resulting outcome could be detrimental to a person's life. I'm sure developers don't take that into account for example if a person has depression, suicidal thoughts, anger issues etc.

Please, I ask for a Permanent Chat Ban punishment to exist in the game in place of Permanent account ban, at least for players who have dedicated a considerable chunk of time invested in the game. I kindly ask for my ban to be lifted, and be given a permanent Chat Ban instead, as my crime is offensive language, and not intentional feeding or ruining the game in direct means.

Please reconsider my ban... players aren't animals... laws and regulations are designed to protect players, not hurt them when applied irrationally.

Thank You. It means a great deal to me.

I'm sure developers don't take that into account for example if a person has depression, suicidal thoughts, anger issues etc.

They do not take this into account, because those are all things that the individual should find ways to handle (or help handling, if necessary) outside the game. What League cares about is your impact on the League community, and they give multiple warnings that behavior isn't acceptable, which should be your cue to find assistance with out-of-game problems, if needed.

Ultimately, if you have violated the rules repeatedly enough to have earned a permanent ban, the punishment is not applied irrationally. Riot has tried multiple variations of the punishment system before, including extended chat mutes/restrictions, and found that solution to be strictly inferior than the present system at reducing toxicity. As a result, permanent chat mutes are not something that exists at this time, and not an option that is on the table.

I'm afraid the account is lost.

If you really have been playing for seven years, then you remember when indefinite chat restrictions were a thing, how that failed, and why the practice was abandoned.

You have anger issues, by your own admission. That's the reason you were banned. Blaming Riot for this is disingenuous at best.

Your anger issues are yours alone. They have a multitude of ways to handle stuff, like muting and reporting. You chose, instead, to flame and get angry. Maybe this will make you think before you act, but if not, then don't be surprised if it happens again and again.

Permachatbans are pointless. There have been infinetly stacking chat restricitons. People with basicly perma chatrestrictions had increased toxic behaviour in the form of inting and trolling. Riot tells the player that their behaviour will lead to a permaban if continued. If you ignore this its on you.

Did you not know the rules before you were banned? You're basically admitting your guilt, then asking for them to not punish you. If you don't want to be punished, don't do the crime. Riot has said before that they have no intention on lifting bans for the reasons you suggest, and I completely support them in their decision. This is because I've seen how players act compared to what they tell the people running the games. Clearly, you have issues that you need to admit to, then fix before anything else. If you got banned for offensive language, then you need to quit using offensive language. Is there any question in your mind as to which things you said were offensive? I'll answer that for you: No. You know you were wrong, you know it was punishable by ban, and you did it anyway. Not only is this an insult to the people you're playing with, but to the people that made the rules. This is indicative of poor behavior irl and it would be a disservice to people that deal with you there as well if Riot were to lift the ban. You're being punished because you refuse to be a decent person. Learn or go away. Simple.item 1056

I Feel Really sorry for you considering the time you spent on this account.

Just like you I wish riot could implement Very Long Chat Restriction and Game Bans instead of the Permanent Ban because kid's behavior gets way better when you confiscate their Computer/Game Consol rather than when you break it, which won't make them think about what they've done and will make them feel hatred towards you instead.

But sadly it's Riot's Policy, I Know it's stupid but we can't do much about it.

From Riot Tantram:

It really breaks down into two categories.

1.) Helping players reform 2.) Shielding others from the behavior, at a cost.

We used to issue chat restrictions that essentially scaled indefinitely.

We were able to determine that after a certain point the penalty no longer helped with reform. The 10-game and 25-game counts for chat restrictions are based on data that they were both light enough, and felt strict enough to encourage people to understand their behavior is unacceptable in game and change it.

We also saw that the players in this 'large restriction' category defaulted to gameplay altering means of harassing their team. It caused an increase in feeding and trolling.

The sample size of this population and time frame is huge. Essentially the time spanning from the introduction of chat restrictions to the introduction of IFS.

So my question for you is, would you rather have more feeders and less negative chat?

If someone isn't gonna behave properly despite being given multiple chances to do so then why shouldn't they be removed from the game?
