Punishment resetting to 0 question.

So I had x25 chat restrictions almost 7 months ago. Since then I'm dishonored and stuff. But I recently realized I got my punishments reset to 0, after I got a 10 games chat restrictions for telling a draven to go to hell after abusing me.

My point is not the punishment. It's something else. Since my punishments were reset to 0, since then I feel as if my reports have 0 weight anymore. There were cases of huge verbal abuse towards me, none-stop grief or just simply people intentionally feeds. I am aint going to speak about the guy who sexually abused me whole match. I keep reporting and I never get a message that the person is punishing, while before my ban reset I had the notification like every day at least twice.

My question, is the notification just removed or is my report really 0 weight after the punishment reset? And why is it possible to stay dishonored for 7 months while somehow managing to be worthy to get your bans reset?

(Im not writing from my currently active accounts cause I do not wish to get bullied by people of the forum, as it happened before while I used my main account to write here.)

It is quite possible for even a player without prior punishments to not get the "Player has been punished" message even with sure-fire-instant-punishment-worthy-behavior, so if you are not seeing it, it doesn't mean the system might not have punished the reported person. In my case I haven't seen that message in over a year now I think, and I have been reporting someone pretty much every day (and I haven't been ever punished for anything - reached honor 5 last season, currently in honor 3).

Not receiving the message does make one doubt the functionality of the system, especially after reporting instant-suspension-worthy-behavior. Apparently the system does punish some people, but I have doubts that my own reports do anything anymore (ie: I have been put on some secret False Reporter Club which Riot has not told us about). Yes, sounds a bit like conspiracy theory, but the not receiving the punishment message after reporting kyssers tends to make people lose faith in the system.

So here is how the punishment system works:

  1. Get a report
  2. Check for toxicity with that player's chat
  3. Grade the toxicity, 0=no toxicity and 100=used hate speech
  4. Add that grade into the player's behavioral history (note, more reports just return the same grade, so it does nothing extra to get someone punished faster.)
  5. If they reached an accumulated grade of 100 they will get punished.

Now understand that you'll only get a punishment notification if the person's reform card contained your game. Meaning, your report will contribute to people's punishment down the road but you won't be notified.

Which also means that seeing the punishment notification is a pretty rare instance.

I've never received a punishment but I also rarely see notifications for reports I've filed. Maybe 3 or 4?

Just dont even use in game chat. just ping and communicate when you have to, and always be the first to admit you are wrong to avoid arguments. The tribunal system encourages players to look for any way to get payback for anyone coming anywhere close to remotely insulting them.
