This game REALY needs another way to calculate LP loss

Im sick and tired of going into a game motivated and ready to win but then here comes a wild carefree player that plays like crap, takes no objectives, just roams the map doing nothing and helping nobody and just spams laugh because you start to rage and also starts to play even worst. Never ever breaking their only golden rule to never type in chat, they know the only way for the system to punish them is thru chat.

Why the hell do I have to lose the same ammount of LP as this idiot noob that clearly had 0 interest to win this game, then you go to their match history and its all normal, some games won others lost but nothing crazy like feeding wich means that this troll player probably was hes last game of the day and he just decided to troll it but not feed to make it obvious.

Even if I get a possitive score I still lose LP then the one who didnt try, its unfair and just demotivates those who try hard to win. I know you don't give a fuck Riot as long as the money flows but if any Rioter read this I want to say I know you realy dont care about this problem.

Individualized LP gain/loss incentivizes selfish play to pad stats rather than to continue to engage in teamwork.

This is a team game. It's shitty to lose LP because of a bad player, but if you're at the appropriate MMR for your skill level, you're just as likely to get your ass carried and gain that LP back.

The game has to be at a net zero. If you want less LP loss when an "idiot noob" is on your team then you have to accept less LP gains when he is on the other team.

To be fair, you may not actually be losing the same amlunt of lp. Lp loss/gain seems to fluctuate between 15 and 25.

sooo........... I should start to play much more selfishly to protect my kda right? Why should I try to help my adc if it means risking my kda and losing more LP? Or maybe wait for my team to engage and come clean up for kda.

We are kind of stuck with the current system. Unfortunately, the LP calculations can't be done retroactively - they are done on the spot and use the hidden ELO-like ratings. Riot has chosen to keep the numbers hidden from us (for we have to assume a good reason) and replace them with the tier-rankings.

Also, one other thing we have to assume (and luckily it does seem to be consistent) is that the appearance of those who engage in behaviours that negatively affect our ratings, who "run it down mid" or intentionally feed (constructively or deliberately), are less likely to occur at higher tiers and more likely to occur at lower tiers. Moreover, Riot seems to assure us that the net LP changes that are caused by such bad behaviours is overcome by the system as a whole. ("Eventually you will climb to the rating that you deserve.")

Yes, it sucks. But every game that uses some sort of calculated rating has the same problem. Even if Riot got rid of the veil over LP, we'd still be faced at some point with the same problem. As for a solution, sadly the numbers of players in the game prevent something like a ladder or pyramid. If you do come up with something that could work, then I'd suggest proposing it. It might be welcomed.

I just hate losing LP for games where 1 or more people leave...and you can't remake. Really demotivating. TBH just love yourself and give up on ranked or the game entirely. You'll glow [slayer-jinx-catface]
