The Mindset of Numerous Players and The Truth| Can't TL:DR please don't comment if you can't read it

**If you cannot handle long reads, I ask that you please click whichever button that gets you off this page. If there is any "TL:DR" comments, ignoring what I put in my title, then you will not get the attention you seek. **

I recently got out of a game, with one teammate being toxic. He said the whole team was bad, and I stood for them saying "So being a jerk is now meta?" "Are you pro?". Not to clap back, but in hopes that he will realize that being a jerk is not the way to go about talking to your teammates and also understanding that players make mistakes. I'm going to separate my points in sections: May this provide insight on many:

*** Every player is not perfect** - A lot of the toxic that comes from the community is calling each other/players "bad". Missed a flash? bad, missed a kill? bad? Miss two skillshots? bad? and more and more. And you may say "well they missed a lot of skillshots or made mistakes". Well, does that now justify you being rude to them? No. If you really chill, stop, turn off the music, and ask yourself, is being toxic/being negative a good thing to do? If you answer yes, then hopefully my other points may help you understand why it's a bad trait to have, especially in the world we live in now.

(This is a continuation of ^) One thing that I'm seeing is that, numerous people, by the number deletes the understanding of practicing and training. "Lol there are bots for that" Bots have a limited amount of actions that can be done, game play and thinking wise compared to a human. Meaning that training against other players is beneficial to continue to increase skill level. So if training and practicing, means that you aim to get better and improve on mistakes, then to challenge toxic comments, how is saying they're bad logical if it's practicing or training? Unless they're cold hearted then nothing will get to them because they're driven by indifference.

Last comment on this section: If you cannot understand that players make mistakes in game, then you may want to rethink playing this game, because you will frustrate yourself to know end, and there is no way to justify it. I use to be a toxic player and to be honest, I didn't know hwo to talk to people any other way. And I was mad also because of the reasons listed above. Thankfully I don't do that anymore, but to show I'm not judging anyone who does it, but also saying it's still wrong and not needed.

*** Real life does not stop just because you enter the game**: I cannot tell you enough, just because you enter que and your animated characters enter the map, does not mean everything around you, in real life, freezes matrix style, then resumes once the "Victory" or "Defeat" screen. It has become a meta to where numerous players (and if you look up the word numerous, you'll understand why i'm using that term do define the amount of players) think automatically that the players on their team is in the same position as themselves and nothing could go wrong or no interruptions can happen. How many people play this game? I'm asking this rhetorically. but do you understand that millions and millions of players play this game meaning also different lives, different situations, different environments come into factor? "Well don't play then" K, do you understand that real life happens and events can come up without notice? Which also factors in my above points? Maturity comes into a lot of the toxic that is going on and not to say that has to do with age but just understanding that different people have different lives and different situations can pop up. That;s about as simple as I can get. Real life happens and there is no stopping it and as I said above, if you cannot understand that you may want to reconsider playing this type of game.

  • Anger: This is the biggie and can also tie in to my above points. There can be several factors of anger and I cannot go through all of them, however I will tackle one factor. I myself, use to have a lot of anger issues. It was bad and in real life it was causing me trouble, so I would troll and be toxic because of really school and my past of being bullied. Not to justify what I did was right, but to say that there was a source to my anger. All I can tell you, is that you are not what people say you are. Everyone has a value/reason to live, and I understand hearing people curse, call you out, bullied, mistreated and among the others can make that seem like a lie. If anything you read goes through to you, let it be this, what they have said to you, does not define you. There are cold hearted people in this world, who do not care at all about what they say. Don't try to reason with them, because their mind is already made up. You have value and you have a purpose and you have my high five. Because of how huge this topic can expand to, i'm going to leave it here.

Last Point: You see it on LCS Streams, and you see it even on youtube videos associated with Riot, that they themselves support what I call "meta players" meaning, calling people bad for mistakes or worse in that category in different means/ways/views. Think about a spotlight, if it shines on someone, where does your attention go to? Wherever the spotlight is, so because of the negativity is broadcasted by Riot/people associated with riot, then it seems that whatever they say is right. And not to judge them and not to be #antiriotgames #antileagueoflegds because like I said, I use to be toxic also so who am I to judge, but i'm saying in terms of, just because someone has the megaphone and is speaking, doens't mean they're telling the truth, and when you factor someone well known, rather that be friends/streamers/etc, then it is absorbed my the masses because they see them as an icon and want to be like that, and in order to be like that, you must also take on their traits. Again, not that i'm judging but just telling you the truth on how these situations go. It's not right, what is right about it? Because it is ok'd by many? If it takes 20 people to ok to taking out a bridge that a lot of people use to travel, is that ok because the leader of the 20 is seen as a figure? No.

Don't be afraid to breakaway from the crowd because the crowd's hp is based off acceptance.

May all who have read be enlightened for the better. Thank you for reading.

It was an alright read, I do have several points I want to make though.

The first point that you bring up, is something that I think more people should pay attention to. We're all human, we all make mistakes. If I'm in a call with friends, I'm going to call them boosted all the time. It's all in good fun, but still you should not berate someone for missing a skillshot. However, there are times where I get frustrated when people make incorrect calls. For example, the other night I was playing support and we had a graves jungle. At minute 3, reksai (enemy jungle) came and ganked bot lane. Reksai only had blue buff on, and she stayed and pushed the lane for a good two minutes. During this time, I told our jungle graves that reksai's red was still up and he should take it. Graves took Reksai's rapters and then left while Reksai was still in bot pushing. I guess this is more of a personality flaw more than anything, but I would like it if other players listened to my calls more often. And if I tryhard and do my best, I'm often meet with the mentality of "it's just normals why do you care?" (I mostly play normals) or I get this response "I don't care, this is just my smurf, my main is Plat" (odd when I look them up and they have 400 ranked games played this season. But again, this is more of a personal rant more than anything.

The second point about real life doesn't stop, is absolutely correct. I completely understand and I agree with it, however, the majority of complaints I see on the boards about Leaver Buster and it's punishments are things like "my parents shut off the internet at 10, so I queued up for a ranked game at 9:30" or "my parents make me do chores". Both of these circumstances are understandable, but they are often easily avoided. If you know that you aren't going to be able to finish a game, don't queue up. If you know you have chores to do, finish your chores before you start a game.

I have to disagree with you on the final point, when someone streams, they spotlight is on them. Often, if you look at the chat, the chat is talking about the things the streamer did wrong. Now this does not apply to someone doing SubWars (I miss Trick2G's subwars so much) where the entire focus is on one specific team.
