Pre-game/Post game report options

Riot needs to implement pre-game report options or something. We as a community need a better, faster feedback option to deal with champ select trolling rather than either A.) Dodge the game to avoid the troll or B.) deal with their asinine actions towards other players and possibly lose just to have the chance to report after

Also, decreasing the impact of report tickets based on how often you report players WILL NEVER impact the community. Reports need to count on individual merit. Yes, some people will report illegitimately all the time, but they do that anyway. If that report is bad or unwarranted, its not like the player is going to know they were wrong for reporting that person because the only feedback we get is when the "helped report a player" banner pops up.

So send the player a msg when a report doesn't count. This A.) Lets them know they were wasting time and should probably revaluate what is worthy of a report and B.) Makes frequent valid reporting worth more

More valid reports should result in more account punishments and help clean up how people treat their allies in game. I cannot emphasize enough how fucking CRUCIAL it is to minimize pre-game "Bullshit". That's what it is; absolute, complete, irritating bullshit when your allies are trying to mess with you/each other before game. If you're the sportsmanlike player, you have to sit there, be a "good summoner" and report after. You can't talk to these types of players. You have no power other than trolling, which just makes it worse and you a part of the problem.

The 3 or 4 "successful report" feedbacks I've received do not outweigh the countless games I'm watched "the bullshit" ruin. They definitely don't make you feel better when you get in game (especially rank) and some asshat bans your pick like "haha deal", or "bye", or whatever gloating. It doesn't help when they brag about how much they get away with it.

I practice patience, muting, not responding, dodging trolls, the whole nine, but I still have to play with these players if i want to play. I still get penalties if I avoid playing with them, I definitely get penalized in game when I don't dodge. Where the hell is the sense in that?

Of course some people rage hella hard over this, because they might come from places where if you were like that in person, you'd probably get punched in the face. Some of us find unwarranted disrespect to total strangers morally repugnant. The point is that I could be unaffected by whatever childishness is going on, but that doesn't mean the guy in queue next to me will.

I don't want to hear the "Anger issues blah blah" "Their emotions their fault blah blah" because the reality is treating people like trash can put off any person when exposed to it enough. If we want to be even more realistic, there are parts of the world where you'd get KILLED over less disrespectful things. This is not a statement advocating violence, its an observation. There can be X factors for why a person tilts at any one point. Im asking pig-headedness be a less frequent one.

If you flame your allies, or whine about your allies, or ban your allied picks, I propose you take the same level of cancer insults and go give them to a complete stranger on the street. Do it just like you do in League. Ram the insults and your opinions down their throat and see if you walk away scratch free. Better yet, go join up in a game of street basketball, or football, and run your mouth about how good you are and how bad they are. You'll either end up in the dirt or with no one to play with. /endrant

TLDR:

GIVE US A BETTER REPORT SYSTEM. Let us have a voting system to kick that player and have new queue, or a report option PRE GAME, or both. Let our reports count more. Tell us when our reports don't count, so frequency has nothing to do with individual report impact. Give SOME power to the positive player other than good thoughts and wishes.

Hmm, interesting points there. Seems like they fall into two major categories, so I will address them that way: report weight, and pre-game lobby report functions.

As far as report weight, reports do not lose weight any more based on their "validity." They haven't since the Instant Feedback System was put into place. It's much faster and more efficient at reviewing chat logs compared to Riot employees, so there really isn't a need to lessen the weight of reports from players who are known to try and report people unjustly. The IFS doesn't have the same time/manpower constraints that Riot Staff did, or even that the Tribunal did, so it is possible to simply have every report flag games for review. They can all be investigated equally.

As far as pre-game lobby reporting... that's a trickier problem. One of the main reasons you want to have it, to deal with the bullshit of other players in the lobby, is probably one of the main problems with implementing it. It would have to be set up in such a way that it cannot be used to threaten other players, or hold the lobby hostage. Specifically, it has to be set up so that premades cannot abuse it. Nobody wants to see a system set up where a group of two or three can come in and threaten to group report player X if they don't agree to swap roles, or change their champion, etc. You see where this is going? The potential for bullying and harassment even before the game begins could be fairly high, unless it can be designed and implemented in a way to address that. Given how often this comes up, I believe Riot will be looking into this soon, if they aren't already, but it will have to be handled carefully. They have managed to set up the IFS in a way that doesn't allow for premades to mass-report, so I have no doubt that they will be able to come up with some sort of solution that would prevent players from threatening to mass-report in the pre-game lobby. It might just take a tool-tip or loading screen tip to get the word out to players so that they all are aware that they don't have to be afraid of group bullying and don't have to give in to their demands.

^^^ that would be awesome.

Like a team of Riot observers who get an in game report and they start spectating to check the game (would need a LOT of people)
