Talking Smack In Game

First and foremost, coming from a game like Call of Duty, where shit talking is literally part of the game, I think league players have a hard time distinguishing "shit talking" from toxicity. In my opinion, shit talking is part of video games. You do it with your friends when you beat them at Mortal Kombat or Mario Kart. It's human nature. But in this game...geez, in this game. When we stop giving so much weight to the things that people say to us online is when this community will clean up. It's different than flaming. But when you're 10-0 and get a sick triple kill, you should be able to bad manner and it shouldn't be taken as a dick move even though it's in the name, because I'm sure if you're the one 10-0 you'd want to do the same. This is totally just me though and with voice chat in CoD getting flamed and talking shit just comes with the game. I don't know...just wanted to rant since I told some kids they were getting shit on and I got reported for it. I understand where they are coming from, but it's just banter. Friendly salt in the wound.

Riot has made the community sensitive. It's really unfortunate.

Most people don't like it.

when it comes to the mind games league players are weak. so instead of improving theirs they want to get rid of it completely.

There were things mentioned that really should have been expanded on.

Friends: Yeah, I am more likely to do it towards friends because they will most likely see it as a friendly jab. Strangers? Not as much.

Voice Chat: Voice chat is infinitely harder to monitor as opposed to text chat. People are also more likely to mute a voice/noise annoying them than text.

BM: Competitive BM is fine. Wu Kong got a penta? /all "He is monkeying around.". Sick play or escape as Alistar? /all "Moo!". Ulting in as a Fiddles and get a double? /all "Caw Caw Motherfuckers." Or the one I prefer, /all "Happy Birthday!"

CoD players are jist as bitchy about stuff as LoL. I got xbox live banned for 2 days for my motto "I'm the mother effin Bear Jew" after I whupped a guy on Fuel FFA. How do I know it was because of him? Educated guess since he said some choice words via message in German.

God I hope people with this mentality get more chat restrictions and permabans.

The shit talking in this game is built in. Each individual doesnt get to decide when it goes from "shit talking" to "toxic", that would just be a mess. Shit talking in this game is like flashing a RIP emote after you get a kill. A thumbs up after the enemy dies trying to dive you. Shit like that. Going into chat to talk shit is just opening yourself up to judgement and possible punishment from the Rito gods.

And i have pissed off people and been told "thats toxic" just from flashing these emotes at opportune times. But i know it doesnt cross the line into punishment territory, because its literally a feature of the game. Once you get into chat and the differences between competitive banter and rudely insulting people, things get too convoluted to make a clear line between the two. They cant give each individual player the power to be the judge of it. So I would say just stick to emotes.
