TY is a very powerful word

when your jungler gives u a buff, say TY.

when the support saved u from a situation, say TY.

when ur laner helped you get a kill during invade, say TY.

when someone warded for you, say TY.

there are way more situations where this can apply,a simple 2 letter word can show your appreciation and respect toward your fellow teammate. so why not do it?^_^

Even better if they take the time to type "Thank you" instead of "Ty" which in my opinion is just lazy unless there's something important going on.

This is why we need a chat wheel like in Dota.

I basically don't have to type anything in chat and it allows me to send encouraging words to my teammates without any effort. If someone makes a good play, I choose either "Nice" or "Well Played" If someone saves me, I choose "Thank you" Furthermore, if you type "ty", "thank you", "thanks" or choose the "Thank you" option on the chat wheel, your hero will say the words "Thank you" aloud. Sometimes the hero will use other words like "Much gratitude" or a personal line towards the hero that saved them.

One of my favorite options on the chat wheel is "Relax, you're doing fine". I use that whenever a teammate makes a mistake and I don't want them to feel bad or tilt because of it.

I usually type "ty", then add a little more if I've some downtime afterward.

e.g.

ty (30 seconds later, while recalling or whatever.) Nice work. Appreciate the pressure bot, Elise.

It really does help. Teammates that feel appreciated are more likely to play at their best. I mean, I know it sounds cheesy, but I've noticed I really do win a lot more games when I help my team maintain a positive attitude.

It just makes the game feel better, I love it.

Because they get cocky and dive 1v3 in the next minute.

That trivializes the phrase. I will thank someone when they do something above and beyond, not what they're expected.
