How do you know if a "player" is a bot account?

This is pretty strange, I wrote down the username of an ally I thought was a bot, Looked them up, and the match I played with them does not show up in their match history. They would sit at base for 3-4 minutes at a time, dive in 1v5s, and go in brush to just sit there for minutes at a time. Their movements were just too similar to what I've seen bots do in custom games. They did not use chat to respond to allies, and the only time they would ping is when using TP (which bots do this as well). I was wondering how do you tell if an account is actually a bot account, and what does riot do about it once reported, or how do you properly report it? Thanks all!

I have to admit, I don't think reporting a bot does really much at all. I've made many new accounts before and played/faced bots of all kind. Even with VERY similar names. There were 3 different times where I played aram with a guy named something like "unknownplayer4" with another player named "unknownplayer6" on the enemy team and even once with them both on my team.. Reported both of them and still about a week or so later, found them in game once again lulz. And yes they did move exactly and played exactly like a bot. Random wandering, feeding, and hardly any spells used.

If you suspect someone of botting, just report it. Don't worry you won't get punished if your report turns up false.

Botters and scripters get banned in waves to prevent the people who create the programs from catching onto how Riot is catching them.

Bots generally are there to only leach XP, they feed, never speak, and if a new bot has no Keystone. They may or may not get a kill in game, and since they are scripted will only stick to the same lane and only move to another lane if the objective is destroyed.

How did you "look them up"? If you used a third party site, you should know that they are not always up to date, and not always accurate

Usually bot accounts play the free week champs. Check who's free to play, and watch what they pick. If they do pick a free week, ask them if they are human. Wait for a response.

Had a Heim once, that only walked from base every so often, to the bush behind North Red Buff, and only went away if someone got close. Never bought items, never CS'd, and only placed turrets and moved here and there to avoid AFK'ing.

Never talked in chat, or did anything. This was in Ranked. Mind you.

Regardless, I reported them, because I can only imagine others wanting to have a decent game, and they get him instead.
