Ranked rewards denied for being banned in the last 3 months

This just seems like some kind of stunt to me. What is the difference between being banned early season as to late season? Nothing! You're picking on a group of people who got in trouble during a different time and you did it with one month left in the season. This is extremely horrible treatment and unfair to this group of players. You either don't give rewards to anyone who got banned or you give to everyone what they earned. In my opinion your ban is your punishment, to deny people what they earned all season is terrible business practice. I have zero interest in giving one more penny to this company unless this is corrected.

You know, this could have all been avoided had you just...not flamed and raged, just putting that out there.

3 months is for you to show you have reformed by not getting punished again. Don't blame everyone else for your failures. Man up and take responsibility and accept the consequences.

I would personally prefer that bans at any point during the season remove you from eligibility. But the point in drawing the 3 month line is that those players have gone 3 months without reoffending so they are considered reformed.

Sure, let's remove the rewards from everyone who got a ban during the season, I'm okay with that.

Riot has stated that simple punishments alone don't stop people from being toxic. Since just the punishment isn't a deterrent they had to step it up and put this extra part on. Its been like this for at least 2 seasons now, so its not something new. You were toxic after the deadline and don't get your rewards. it rather black and white on this one.

Cloud7Strife - The price was my two week ban.

Seriously !! If I were you I'd be focusing on Not getting that perma that is coming with next punishment then worry about a Reward I may or may not get.

The difference is Riot is trying to be fair and allow players to improve, I don't recall the exact date when Riot announced this reward thing but then they went ahead and cleared accounts of some existing punishments, so I feel it's more then Fair !! Besides which they did this last year, so it should be no huge surprise to anyone.

Y'know, when Lyte first announced that they would (again) be denying Ranked Rewards based on behavior, the policy was a little different. Time bans at any point during the season would prevent players from receiving their rewards.

So my guess is that they don't see much difference, but decided to give some slack because of the late announcement.

You got banned and lost rewards. Deal with it. Stop posting rants like these on the forums when it was clearly stated on bans affecting the upcoming deadline.

I'm with you on this one. It's bias as well as double-punishment and they're both unethical.

Further, when Riot introduced its automated behavior system they changed the game, and a large amount of people weren't prepared for it. I remember because of the uproar when a bunch of players got 14-day bans out of nowhere around early August. The new behavior robot was extra severe in its punishments and didn't take a look at past games to determine anything. It did something that was rarely done before, and that was make on-the-spot decisions almost immediately after a report went through. This was a huge change for people and one that many weren't prepared for. A lot of people who hadn't really considered themselves toxic, but who admittedly had bad games every now and then, suddenly found themselves going from years of playing with no punishment to a sudden 14-day punishment. That in itself was a wake-up call for a lot of these players, but now Riot takes away their ranked rewards too--a move that was up for some debate within Riot games itself (I know because I e-mailed them asking for clarification and they said they hadn't come to a decision yet; fyi what Lyte posted on his twitter was not actually official Riot policy at the time). Many of these players haven't been consistently toxic, and a lot of them have never been toxic again since the automated system came into play. So what exactly is the benefit of taking away rewards right now?

And why is it that if a player is toxic on november 11th, they don't lose rewards? Should the time of toxicity really be a factor here?
