Riot has a terrible REPORT SYSTEM.

Just one gripe about this ordeal.

I'll use a specific example from my last game that I got reported. My bot is 1/9 My top is 1/7 Mid was easy gank and got my mid ahead (he was 5/1 at one point) I, the jungle, was 9/3 at one point

As you can tell, I try very hard to win games. I want to climb. My team didn't seem like they care.

  1. My top had counterpick vs illaoi and picks into bad matchup.
  2. My bot support is dying every minute.
  3. My adc wants to farm for 6 items before grouping.
  4. My mid tries to 1v5 (he was doing well but eventually the gangbang from enemy too strong).

I had enough of this clown fiesta so i decided to afk.

SO ONE THING THAT BOGGLES MY MIND. IF PEOPLE CAN CHOOSE TO NOT LISTEN TO TEAM'S ADVICE AND PLAY LIKE A DECENT PLAYER (e.g. group with players that have a strong lead instead of going side lane and afk farm when you're massively behind and maybe even die), THEN WHY CAN'T I DO WHAT I WANT AND AFK???

I played my mind out. AND, i'm mentally boomed so I didn't want to play anymore. How is that any different from my team doing what they want and preventing our victory. Doesn't it bother you how these players just do what they want and it actually deters/hinders the chance of victory.

On a side note, I ended up typing and telling my team what they did wrong and what I expected them to do. I was already telling them what i suggest them to do but they always do something else. That something else, I deem to only put us further behind while the enemies get further ahead.

SO game is over in my context. They want to win, then so be it. I didn't get upset that they still want to try. I applaud them for their mental strength or maybe they just haven't grasped the situation. But from my experience it's unwinnable and it's better to go next game.

I always think that if you want to win then play better than your opponents. Accept defeat and move on. I know sometimes there are slim chances but this is one of those "enemy running you down" kind of games.

In the end, Riot punishes me for afk'ing and maybe calling people stupid because I was mentally weak. They're right, I am mentally weak just like how my team was weak in their plays/mechanics/macro etc.

I typically don't even respond to retorts like that because I think I played the best of my abilities just like my team did... and I just wanted to go next game. I definitely should have muted and kept my mouth shut.. maybe pretend to play the game a little here and there.. and lose.

EDIT (UPDATE) I'm glad that some people figured out what I was trying to convey despite how poorly I phrased my point when I was upset.

It's really mind boggling to hear how people can be on such extreme ends. Anyways I'm tired of explaining to these people...

You're really confused that people are allowed to have their own strategies (however poorly they wind up doing compared to your own), but that you're not allowed to literally sabotage the game because you think it's over?

Dude, if you're going to AFK, you don't have any right to complain about people's differing strategies not going well for them. And you most certainly don't get to say that you try very hard to win. Winners don't AFK.

I fail to see how any of this means that the report system is terrible. You harassed your teammates and decided to sabotage the game, hence you deserve punishment. The system is doing its job.

As in soft int? Seriously. When you actively AFK and humor soft-inting to subtly sabotage the game, you have zero right to say that you play to win. You don't want to climb, you want games to go your way or the highway.

It boils down to "I cannot force you to do anything, say anything, or behave a certain way, nor force you to lose a game through intentional action".

Them disagreeing with you is not forcing you to do anything, say anything, or behave a certain way. It may not be the best idea, and it may not be what you think they should do, and it may decrease the chances of winning the game, but they are not forcing you to do anything.

You, on the other hand, are forcing the other players to play around a disconnected teammate. That's not your right to do. They are allowed to unintentionally make decisions/have ideas/make plays that are bad or incorrect or unwise. You are not allowed to intentionally lose the game.

I would suggest going on a discord or posting on player recruitment “ LF serious duo playing to win” and say desired role you want them to be and your role. I feel like this would help you a lot now you know you have a teammate that is good and you enjoy playing with! Hope this helps*[galio-happy]*

  • Pre-season is not the best time to try and climb, seriously. Its like doing Flex Q at the odd Silver 1 / Gold 1 bracket during the last week before season ends. And you get that one guy who doesn't care because he already got his rank in Solo. So he's here learning Teemo/Orianna jungle! My point is, don't try so hard that you tilt yourself because of your teammates. This isn't the time that everyone else is going to be trying hard. All you can hope for is a small MMR boost if you're lucky!

  • Riot as no way to tell whether they are trying or not. Listening to you is not something they have to do. Riot has no guidelines which require teammates to listen to another person even if they are the only one doing well on their team. You can go AFK if its stressing you out enough to want to unleash a fury of toxic words which you'd rather avoid. And so, the alternative of going AFK is not justified but its safer for you. Because the latter option can get you banned depending on the quality of your toxicity. [sg-miss-fortune]

  • So that's their choice. Riot doesn't punish them for making their own choices. Listening to you may have won them the game! But if they don't then they lose. If my teammates don't listen then I don't bother. You need to come to terms with some losses. Riot says that every game is winnable but that isn't true because there might be days when some people are not playing upto their usual standards. Playing champs they aren't good at! Or maybe they even had chat completely muted and didn't see your advice? My chat's always muted to avoid toxic players because 5/10 games on average have someone saying or doing something nonsensical. I only unmute to give some advice when I can tell that they are lost. And if people don't listen then its done! Don't take losses so seriously that they tilt you.

  • Exactly. If the game is lost then its lost. You just hang around until its over and they come to terms with it.

  • Well, you aren't allowed to AFK! But you also shouldn't be calling them stupid. I dare say, if it was your first time AFK'ing but you never said a word. You wouldn't be getting punished at all. The last part is wrong, if you really want to win then you should keep trying even if your team isn't listening. This part :

  • Feels like you just weren't happy because they didn't listen to you or win with your leadership. I don't blame you for it. You're being honest and that's good. But you have to remember, people and macro play don't always rotate around you. Everyone is an individual, everyone thinks that they are better than the others. The fact that you all didn't unite together means that you weren't the better team. At the end of the day, its less on the individual and more on the team. Even Faker isn't able to carry 1v9. Also! You may have had the best KDA but I am certain that if we asked your teammates, they'd probably come up with several reasons on why you got ahead and they did not. The point is, don't forget your goal just because you resent them for not listening to you. Its hard to do though, I agree. Many times, I get caught up with what my teammates said or did, despite me telling them otherwise. And it got me so tilted that I just gave up and did exactly what you said. Played the game here and there, then lost because I was too caught up with what happened earlier.

Overall OP, if teammates don't listen to advice. Just do what you can!! If you want to give up, that's okay. You can pretend if you are that tilted and just want to move on. But don't AFK after saying nonsense. It will get you punished and at times, might even escalate your punishment.

I Agree 10000% and honestly the actual player base does too (These boards are nowhere near representative of the actual playerbase since they are so heavily censored)

I have made the same case many times, the exact scenario you describe is what always gets me in trouble.

Enter a game trying hard to win, close to carrying but can't do it because the team is just inting/trolling/hopeless. It happens, lots of games are just teammate dicerolls, the matchmaking expects us to grind through lots of them, whatever, on to the next.

But no, the inting trolls hold you hostage, and then YOU get punished for waiting out 5 minutes.

I will never understand this. YOUR time is being wasted, YOU came into the game with a plan to win. YOU did your job. Yet Riot expects you to sit in this clownfiesta with monkeys and pretend its not a waste of your time?

It makes no sense to me. If Michael Jordan has 60 points and his teammates airball everyshot, and the Bulls are down by 50 points, nobody blinks if MJ sits on the bench in the 4th quarter. Its a waste of his effort, he already did his best. The monkeys shooting airballs are the ones scrutiny should fall on.

This is the perpetual problem with League I have. I can accept they waste time with bad teammates and matchmaking in a large % of games, but to punish the winning players for wanting to go next.... makes no sense.
