My hacked account got perma banned and it's my problem

I haven't played for roughly two years now, after taking a break and then just realizing there wasn't a point in me continuing to play a game that just brought about a side of me I just didn't enjoy. So I decided to come back recently because I got the itch to play a moba like league of legends and to see what all the fuss is about in terms of changes and what not. I went to go log onto my account and I got a friendly announcement saying my account has been permanently banned. I thought to myself What? I was confused and read the little do-dad they give you know telling you how you're banned and some other information regarding it. Like any reasonable person I went to the support page and opened a ticket immediately. I told the support team that I haven't played in two years and I was confused as to how a vacant account can be banned through nothing happening- so I thought. It wasn't soon after I realized my account was stolen from me and someone was freely using my information for their own volition. I reported this to the report team and as a response they had nothing positive to say. It was apparently my fault my account was hacked and that this person's actions on the game were my problem and I should have dealt with them. They continued on by stating that I have been banned a multitude of times prior to this and I have had enough time to change my actions and deal with my toxicity. Let me remind you this isn't me, and while I admit to being toxic in the past; two years is a long time for someone to mature and realize that getting so mad at a game to the point were you wish people "contract cancer" or any other variety of insult is not remotely worth it. I was shocked after finding this information, that it was my fault for someone using my account. I never received confirmation that someone could use my account from a unregistered IP address, or any sort of email concerning the repercussions happening to my account. Instead the only notification you receive is through the game itself. So over my two year hiatus how could I have known someone was wrongfully pretending to be me and making a name even worse for me? I offered Riot my I.D. to prove I'm the actual owner to the account and even suggested them to look at the IP's from when I was actually playing to when this random person was using my account. They refused to look and to admit that maybe someone else was using my account and then brushed me aside. No matter what rebuttal I had that could convince them they would use the same piece of evidence, that it was my fault and they gave me notifications through the game and I could have read them through there. Well if that's how news is spread from game to player that is a pretty poor system. If I was emailed that I was receiving punishment or an unauthorized user was on my account I could have saved the investment I placed into this game, but instead the GM's decided it was better pushing me along and losing a returning customer. Guess I'll go spend my money on Heroes of the Storm, at least Blizzard has a better account recovery system than Riot, I just toss them a picture of my license and there we go A O.K..

Account security is on you they protect the money security by banning accounts to keep it from spending rp at the owners expense

best of luck working with riot

Yeah, It is odd that they don't have a guard system.. Steam never shuts the fuck up about steam guard.. not sure why Riot doesn't have one.. minimum you would expect an email.

I feel for ya sir. I hope you get this resolved but on a positive note youre not missing out on much with respect to how unbalanced this game is in the present.

I've tried talking to several GM's and requested a perma chat ban and still no luck so I'm appealing to forums for at least something. I admit to being really toxic in the past and that was mostly due to me being an immature piece of crap, but after two years of not doing something that makes you toxic really teaches you how to let go and not take things so menial serious. Thank you for the support it means a lot!

Uhm...even if its your account and you said you haven't played in 2 years about? your email gives you warning when people type in the password wrong, or trying to change it...(it lasts 10mins, before the link expires for changing Password) mmm if it was your account like you said, then you wouldn't have a problem trying to get it back through your security questions ... or maybe the last game you played .."for being toxic someone probably reported you" and you lost your account there. can be many open options to this situation
