It really is a shame when toxic people win a game.

Was fighting a veigar as diana recently. on a number of occasions he called me retarded and to top it off, and inbred. i asked him " damn do u kiss your mother with that mouth?" to which he replies " no i kiss yours" . my point here is that when that veigar won the game.... League of legends community lost . while winning the game is skill, i agree but such toxic people should not be allowed to continue on. I couldnt report him due to a bug with my client so i felt i should mention it here so somebody reads it. Quite honestly, i dont think riot punishes people severely enough to instill a sense of caution for trolls, afks and toxic people hence they feel they have full freedom. Mostly its always these childish insults and responses which leads me to think that these players are still in middle school. Sure, I can mute them... but the point here is , dont allow tocix people to climb because they start infecting the community at a higher elo and setting a bad example " be toxic to climb"

I actually hate it when toxic people are on my team and we win because it probably encourages them to be just as toxic in other games because they win and they get the false correlation with their toxicity and win rates.

Can we all just confirm that League of Legends is 100% the MOBA equivalent of Call of Duty at this point? Community-wise, at least. Someone has to say it.

Anyways, I would say just report them. Sure, it feels like nothing will happen, but I've had my fair share of people calling me retarded and telling me to go die in a fire, or whatever kids say nowadays. I've reported a good chunk of the people who are exactly like the player you mentioned, and so far, I've had at least 3 confirmed notifications of disciplinary action taken on them.

You could also speed up the process if the player is excessively toxic by getting screenshots and sending in a support ticket. But yeah, toxic players ruin this game. It doesn't even matter if they're on my team or the enemy team, any time there is a toxic player in the game, my enjoyment and motivation for that match just goes down the toilet.

Unfortunately, it seems that there are now more toxic players than there are nice players in this community now.

I agree that it is a shame when toxic people win a game, however I think there is more to it.

Being toxic, and being a good player, can be the same person. If they win and played well, and were toxic, I could care less. If they win while getting completely carried and being toxic- that sucks.

We need to be careful to separate being toxic from being bad. They actually don't have anything to do with each other.

However, being toxic has negatives within itself. Generally those people automatically lose more games because they tilt their teammates, or essentially encourage teammates to play poorly. On the other hand, if you pay attention to the toxic and they effect your focus, they are playing you and putting you at a disadvantage.

Just like any game there is a mindgame component, and you must be smarter than your opponent at a macro, mental, and mechanical level in league. Regardless if they are toxic or not, that doesn't impact you unless you allow it.

sounds like you need a little bit of mental fortitude before playing some games and if its ranked well thats what we call "trash talk" its common in sports to try in get in the other players mind to make it easier to play vs them. just dont succumb to it and youll see trash talk mostly disappear in chat.
