why not create more layers of language filtering..?

Recently had ONE bad game where i said some pretty fucked up things, i'll admit i shouldn't of said and I won't bother posting chatlog, But finding the bad things I said and using that as a reason to 14-day ban me even though people reported me in normals simply because I wasn't paying attention and bought relic shield on the wrong champ and realized it too late is wrong. So I started thinking, why not let players decide their own experience instead of language/thought policing everything. Why not let players choose between "heavy chat filtration, casual chat filter, no chat filter (except buzzwords like "kys and %%%" because apparently they get through chat filter still, because I'd like to assume that the people who are ACTUALLY getting upset over the things people say are still immature and playing with the filter on..), and vulgar where people can freely say what they want and hear EVERYTHING freely without getting bAnNeD for saying mean things.

And before you people put on your "I'm a proper high elo player" hats and snack on your caviar, its not about "promoting this type of behavior," people are going to do what they want and say what they want, you cannot control human nature and sometimes it gets nasty. I'm not saying I agree with the toxic community, but I'm saying why not just let people speak freely if they so choose instead of banning everybody or punishing players, trying to create a "safe space?" why not let players CHOOSE to create their own safe space if they're so unstable/immature that they need one. Why not permaban "%%%got, %%%, retard, kys, kill yourself" from every filtration level if you're just gonna ban/punish people for saying it? Seems almost like you're putting the cookie jar at child height then waiting to smack them if they try to touch it.

TL;DR Add new options so people can make their own safespace and be protected from "triggerwords" instead of banning people who offend these mentally unstable grown children, or permaban these trigger words so players dont slip up and get punished hard for losing their cool.

you're a video game company riot, not college campus thought police. Find ways to keep players having fun, not dividing and punishing people to keep offended people safe and enclosed in bubble wrap.[zombie-brand-facepalm]

...even though people reported me in normals...

The rules apply to all gamemodes. It doesn't matter if you're in a Normal, a Ranked match, or bots, you are expected to follow the rules.

Addressing your proposal - there's no need for extra layers to the Mature Language Filter, as far as I can tell. Players already can decide the experience they want by selecting their Language Filter options, and reporting people who they think are contributing to a negative experience of the game. If the IFS agrees, then the player who got reported gets punished.

And this argument here;

...you cannot control human nature and sometimes it gets nasty.

Is just plain weak. "Human nature" is absolutely controllable. If it wasn't, civilization as a whole wouldn't exist, because the "human nature" you're trying to argue with is vile, vitriolic, and unnecessary.

You were clearly punished for zero-tolerance chat, and you're arguing that Riot's trying to "create a safe-space" - and yet, here you are, asking for a safe-space of your own, where you can be handheld and kept away from the repercussions of your own misbehavior.

Rather than expect Riot to bend the rules or make the game bend to the rules to cater to even the toxic player's wants and needs, how about we expect the players to actually obey the rules that Riot set out, and not make excuses when they get punished for breaking them?

Are you saying that the community should decide what the punishment should be? Or that you, the player should decide what the punishment should be?

I'm fine with the current system: you have opportunities to change before you end up banned. Sounds fair enough.

I don't get why Riot bans hate speech when they could just make a fucking filter so you can't use hate speech in the first place. Some people have mental issues and they can't stop themselves from being toxic.

Not being able to see the trash crying does not make the trash go away or not ruin a game.

The mute option already exists for when nobody wants to see some worthless trash, but it does not solve the problem. Why would making the chat filter even more aggressive (everyone turns it off for a reason) help?

Riot will still take out the trash, because nobody needs to have little brats running their mouths while they run down lane and throw the game to 'punish' people for not doing what they want.

I'd say do the opposite.

As a regular recipient of permabans, I'd like the ability to censor myself, so that even if tempers flare and i start to slur, it won't actually go through if it risks a punishment.

But as I've said 100 times, Riot profit from permabans, so they won't ever prevent toxicity, only punish it harder.

The cookie jar is exactly what they want to do.

My problem with this game is deliberate saboteurs. I go into every single game with a positive mindset, I respect my teammates, I go into every game looking for the W. I keep my composer throughout the entire game as well as far as performance, even when I am behind I play accordingly.

It irks the hell out of me when people come into those games just to make your team lose. It happens A LOT. Especially in low elo. Unfortunately I placed low silver this year in my placements and I hate it here, but when those dumb asses join I always let them have it, and I don't care about the punishments. The honor system is stupid anyway even when I maintain positive levels the rewards just aren't that great. The most toxic aspect of this game are players that sabotage games intentionally.

The culture of snowflakes needs to go away and something more needs to be done about saboteurs. Being a whinny snowflake and playing a competitive game simply does NOT mix.
