why is ok for people to leave games and only get a 20 minute penalty for five games? I lost my first ranked game because 2 of the players on my team left at 15 minutes. why don't they just bring back the account bans where you couldn't log into the account for a day or even a week.? reto you need to figure something out because I see more and more leavers in my elo. everyone says you cant get out of bronze or iron because of how bad the players are but its because they d/c or afk not because they are bad. the leaver butster system doesn't account for people that leave one or two games. but those one or two games might effect someone else in a huge way, they wont receive any punishment but it might stop someone from getting to the next teir.

TBH, I wish they took out the 20 min. Queue, they need a scaling time queue. leave N# games in 1 week or reports of AFK put a 1 minute queue and scale it upward based on the number of reports/leaves. My friend crashed 2 games in row, and we had to remake. he got a 20 minutes queue for 5 games; Now he no longer plays because of it.

Because there are legitimate reasons to leave the game. Like fire hazards. The moment someone gets crisped because they were in game and hoped to avoid a permanent or long term punishment, that's a fat lawsuit. Or if your power goes out, or you're a streamer that gets swatted. Yea it takes steps to get to that level, but it happens, and someone turning themselves around might just have a situation out of their control.

A ban for a day or a week can frankly be less effective than a 20 minute delay that happens 5 times. If you get a 1 day ban on Friday Night, but are busy all day Saturday and can't log in anyway, then you haven't been inconvenienced in the slightest. Same with 1 week bans, if you only play on the weekends then you barely get touched.

Conversely, the delay punishes every leaver the exact same way, and isn't avoidable.

This is just my opinion but I think having both LPQ and bans for consistent leaves would be a good thing, but only after a player is at the 20 minute mark and they still decide to leave and/or afk in games despite that if that makes sense.
