The Problem with New Champions and the people that want to play it!

When new champs get released everybody wants to play them. My problem is the fact that since everyone wants to play them people go to certain lengths to make sure they get to play them. One game in blind i called jg and hovered neeko, for a few seconds i waited to see what other people called then i locked in neeko.

One guys goes gimme neeko or im going to intentionally feed and make this game the worst you have ever had. Since i already locked in im just like "soz dude i locked already". Then he accuses me of instalocking when he said that after everyone had already basically locked their champs in. Now my problem is just if i dodge i get punished with a dodge timer but if i play, i waste 15 minutes but the guy who wants to troll because i didnt give them neeko will vote no so basically 20 minutes wasted.

I find it super dumb that im getting punished either way just because some dumb dude wants top lay the new champ.

Then the guy will go in chat and call for me to be reported for instalocking. So the chances of everyone in that particular game all reporting him are lower. I dont really mind the dodge queue timer but im just wondering why my fun of playing a new champ is ruined by people like these and there is nothing that realy can be done about it.

And since i dont have all the time in the world to play league i can only play so many games. So i dodge and the worst part about that is that now there is no proof of this guy doing stuff like this but i dont have the time to actually play the game and wait for him to troll.

All it takes is 1 report for the system to review. My suggestion is to play it out, and just report them for being toxic after

Cuz you let them? Like the enemy team is most likely not gonna care about him ranting about instalocking and there's no official rules in place to stop you from just locking a champ.

It's worse when they play Neeko in ranked, feed and then use the 'oh I'm playing Neeko for the first time' as an excuse.

I can lock neeko in faster than half a second with my internet speed and mouse speed. "instalocking" is not reportable in any way shape or form and just ignore them and they won't do anything. The less attention you give them the more likely they'll dodge. I played Neeko quite a lot yesterday and I had none of these problems.

How does it matter if he hard ints?

Ultimately you want to practice Neeko. So just avoid ganking his lane and hard camp another lanes.

It will allow you to have more practice on how to gank and cover for lanes.

One less lane to consider / mimic, one less headache to think about.

Thats when you just turn it into a minigame. Enjoy the 1v1s and learning the mechanics. Theres something sort of comforting in knowing that you're gonna lose no matter what. Just play to have fun that game. If any losing match is automatically not fun, why are you wasting time doing something that isnt fun 50% of the time anyways? Meh. I know im weird. I understand if you cant relate to that at all.

having been here for 4.5 years, I've learned that a champion isn't released until a month after they're on live. Ive love love loved Zoe since her teaser but I didn't play her until well after 2 months of her being live. just not gonna put up with assholes like that.

It's a tough time for everybody. For some reason a few people feel entitled to play the new champ, especially when they haven't been able to for a few games.

People dodging, being salty for not getting her, playing her in every single position and people just not giving a fuck will be quite numerous for the next few days.

Gotta get through it or stay away from blind pick, there is no way around it however.

People like shiny new content.

Especially when that content is criminally overtuned to sell like hotcakes.

Some people don't have enough self-control or introspection to realize they're not always going to get what they want. There are an abnormally high number of these fellows playing League.

Tl;Dr people are dicks and you should just wait 2-3 weeks before you even bother trying to play the new releases

I wanted to play neeko yesterday and I had the opportunity to twice but my premade wanted her so I had to pick for him and trade [sg-janna]

Neeko is the main reason why I'm playing more of Rakan.

Just the other day, I had Neeko as my intended pick & a teammate intentionally banned her. My teammate stated that they didn't care if she was my intended pick & if I wanted to play her, I should have played blind mode.

Now I understand if someone doesn't want a certain champion played. Whether it be because you don't want people to practice them in your game (Normals or Ranked) or they're too "OP" and you don't want to deal with them. As of right now, I'm currently banning Pyke or Brand since I don't like either of them right now.

However, you shouldn't treat your teammates in such a manner. It makes YOU look like the bad guy & you never know if the person you pissed off in Champ Select is going to troll you out of spite.

I'd rather have a 5 minute dodge timer than waste 20 minutes of my life.

Then I'd block the person so my time doesn't get wasted by them again.
