Is Riot going to do something or does toxic sexism not matter to them?

During a ranked game I came across a rather toxic duo. The top laner kept pushing, getting ganked, and dying. I told them to not push if the enemy jg is so focused on top. That is when they began targeting me. They told me to "go back to the kitchen" which I guess, maybe because I play support, they assumed I was female. They proceeded to tell me "my body shape was my worth" and their duo followed up with "fat bitch". I wish I took photos, but I wasn't thinking straight after they put me down like that. Not to mention top was 0/16 and diving the enemy base (two-three towers deep) and I was trying to think up a way to come back. I reported it and someone watching it happen also reported it and I've heard nothing back. I'm wondering if Riot takes sexism seriously because I have heard about what is going on in Headquarters and now this... I really love League of Legends, but I don't want to support something that doesn't protect people against abuse and I am feeling very exposed and attacked.

Is Riot going to do something

You know, enough of these goddamn threads from people. Seriously. It sucks that assholes exist and say stupid things. But what do you expect Riot to do, ban them prematurely before something happens?

Not to mention top was 0/16 and diving the enemy base

Oh now we get to the meat and potatoes of the whole thing, you're pissed that you lost the game.

EDIT: Which game has the 0/16 top laner? I checked your recent (all Twisted Treeline) match history and I don't see it. Please point me in the right direction.

but I don't want to support something that doesn't protect people against abuse

Do you perhaps have any suggestions on how Riot could handle this differently than it's already handled, or do you just want to complain?

I am feeling very exposed and attacked

No, you probably don't have any suggestions. You like drama.

Welcome to league of legends where 'women' (aka everyone who plays support, because every support player must be a woman, right?) aren't allowed to play the game without being constantly faced with harassment and sexism [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

Of all the video games I have played league takes the hardest stance against hate talk or sexism of any kind.

The system does its job but it takes time. At least this game has a system a majority of games you can say beyond vulgar things and have no action against you.

The thing a system can’t do is see into the future and figure out who will be toxic rude or hateful all it can do is react.

Probably not. I've dealt with my fair share of people like that and they all tend to avoid any real punishment, so riot probably doesnt have any systems to pick that up automatically. Your best bet is to submit a support ticket.

Dude, everyone is a victim of sexism. Its just a part of life, get used to it. People gonna talk shit. Report em, mute em if it bothers you, and move on. Yes they punish for that.

Mute/report and move on. If they keep doing it, they will get banned, but if you don't learn to ignore the flame, the game will not be enjoyable to you.

In a perfect and just world, everyone who deserved a punishment would get one. In reality, it is possible for some punishable behavior to go unpunished. First, punishments in LoL can only occur after a valid report. Second, punishments take into account the consistency and severity of the punished player's misbehavior: if two players in a match break the same rule in the same way, one who consistently misbehaves in this way might get a punishment while the other who almost never does so gets away without a punishment (this time). At the end of the day, though, all this does is explain how differences in player behavior over many games can produce different results for equivalent behavior within a single game. It doesn't excuse poor behavior.

From Riot's support knowledgebase:

We can not discuss other players’ actions with you but you can always report them at end of game and mute them when in game. There is no excuse for raging back or responding to people trying to get you to tilt. You are the only one responsible for your actions and your words which is what we are trying to address with these bans.

Not every punishment produces an Instant Feedback Report, in the same way that you don't give your dog a treat every time they sit.

I don't know if you've heard but they've had several sexism lawsuits against them in the past year or so. They do not care.
