Be consistent or let me defend myself vs this crap. Look at my recent report for more details. I don't understand how you allow real toxic players get away with everything while players who defend themselves with a single response usually get instantly banned...

  1. Support tickets don't get ignored, and the IFS can detect pre and post game chat as well. Use the end of game report feature to report them and appropriate action will be taken.

  2. It does not matter what others say, or how severe it is, you do not have the right to increase the amount of negativity by flaming them back or "defending" yourself.

You won't see that player again, so their existence does not affect you anymore.

Leave it be, they will get themselves banned eventually, and in the mean time you won't have to deal with them because the chances of being matched with the same player again are very very low.

Edit: Also I'm curious as to why you think support tickets get ignored? I've had a reply to every one of my tickets that I have ever submitted.

As a player who has received a permanent ban, I have changed my perspective.

What are you exactly "Defending" yourself against? Why is there any real need to start "Defending" yourself from a flamer? What good does it accomplish? They have already told you all about themselves with their name calling and antagonistic comms, correct?

Retaliatory flaming is the closest thing on the internet that you can get to an actual fist-fight. If some one is willing to go that far with you in real life, you have to realize right away that it is just not worth the trouble. In the end, you only display an uglier side of yourself that is not meant for the world to see, and that guy calling you a homophobic slur really isn't worth it. For one, you don't know each other, and he has no right to judge you based on 30 or so minutes of your life (which is just stupid to have to say outloud). For two, you already feel the pressure NOT to engage with him in misconduct, which is good on your part. So you must already understand that reports DO NOT go ignored, right? Or else you wouldn't be here challenging Player Behavior staff.

I say to you then, this:

Whatever some jerk on the internet says to you, remember that it IS the internet after all. You could be getting called a homophobic slur by a mere child for all you know. And fighting back may only teach that child that it is okay and rewarding to try to continue the e-punches.

Don't stoop to their level man.

The moment you do, you have allowed their toxicity to infect you.

Be young at heart, and let the young-in-the-mouth dig their account's graves.

Keep reporting toxic behavior. It is the best solution. Don't resort to toxic behavior, its the solution to another problem which WILL BE SOLVED!

Stay vigilant, and keep to the code!

To expand on what Chermorg was saying, it's quite possible for someone to get a chat restriction without you even realizing it. You can't see honor any more and most people use chat in a way that is indistinguishable from being chat restricted anyhow.

it's because they know how to get around the system, they avoid certain trigger phrases, or only use them few times throughout, never going past the required threshold

you can defend yourself just not by using foul language, or just mute

My thoughts on support tickets to report players, they're ineffective, for two reasons. One, there's 8 other players, so if they were doing something offensive or punishable, there's a pretty good chance someone else will report them. Second, the report isn't the same as using the IFS post-game report, which support agents will also direct you to use.

Also, if this player truly is toxic, they'll eventually get punished.

Most people don't get punished for 1 game. The reform card may show them 1-5 rcent games of unacceptable behavior as examples, but those that get punished typically have a long negative behavior history that we can't see.
