Internet disconnection and 100 minutes queue penalty?

Hey, I've been playing LoL for a while and have always respected the experience of everybody while playing a match. As soon as I enter a match I dedicate my full time and attention to it, if not, then what's the point on playing the game? My internet is good and when it was a laggy sh*t, I even quit LoL and other games for a while until I could move and get a better internet service. Well, today my modem restarted without explanation and obviously caused me a disconnection, which took a while because I had no internet for like 10 minutes. Now, when I reconnect, I have a "low-priority queue" penalty for 5 matches, which is a 20 minutes queue per match. C'mon Riot, I think it's excessive to penalize a player for almost two hours of their time for just ONE disconnection. I'd agree if it had been a constant behaviour because it's annoying af, I know, but still. it's too much. Consider that many users can barely play 2 matches a day or so and not everyday, and having to wait 20 minutes to play a normal match makes me just wanna close the game. There should be a gradient of tolerance in this regard, I mean, anyone can experience a disconnection due to external causes out of our control...

A 20 minute penalty is not handed out after just one disconnect. You would have had to build up to that point in the past.

I have had quite a few random ass disconnects this year, so i think there has to be a pattern to get that queue penalty.

You can only blame your past AFKs / leaving games for you to get the penalty.

A 20 minute penalty (the highest LPQ wait time) is only given out if you have a frequent history of leaving/afking in games. In other words this wasn't just an isolated incident but a trend. Now there is leniency built into the system but it only goes so far before you use it all up, which in this case you have. If you're having connection issues then it's on you to try to fix them as best as possible before queuing up for a game. Now that you're in LPQ the only way it will be removed is if you can play 5 matchmade games without leaving or afking. From the Leaverbuster FAQ:

HOW LONG WILL I REMAIN IN THE LOW PRIORITY QUEUE? You will be placed in the low priority queue for 5 games. If you continuously leave, the low priority queue timers increase from 5 minutes per game to 10 minutes per game and then capping out at 20 minutes per game.

IT'S NOT MY FAULT. MY INTERNET/YOUR SERVERS DISCONNECTED ME. I HAD A REAL-LIFE EMERGENCY. I HAD TO GET OFF THE COMPUTER. THE GAME CRASHED. UNBAN ME! We understand that players may be forced to leave from time to time so the system has been designed to keep these situations in mind. After leaving a few games, you will be placed into a low priority queue; as long as you can complete 5 matchmade games without leaving, you will be returned to the normal queue. However, if you continue to leave games, you will remain in the low priority queue.

I call bs.

There are no 100 minutes penalties. There are 90 minute penalties, however.

Still amazes me that people disconnect, If you know you have bad internet please do not play at all unless you know for sure you wont disconnect.
