Ban system seems out of control

My account was recently given a permanent ban, under the accusation that I was running a bot. I'm a new player, and I don't have any idea how to run a bot, or even why someone would want to. Beyond that, I haven't even logged into the account since last June, so how is that even possible?

I discussed it with Cammy White on chat, but he or she wouldn't tell me a) when it's alleged to have occurred or, b) why they think I'm running a bot. The only things I things I was told were that it's permanent, and that they have no appeal process.

How common is this problem?

If you bought your account online then it was probably botted. If not, then you we're probably botting at one time or another and it just now caught up to you.

If neither are the case and you are an honest player, then send riot a support ticket and things will be worked out. GL

The problem is it doesn't ban the people who flame you throughout the game... it only bans people who retaliate or people who get multiple reports like from pre-made trolls etc.

Not to mention the things it bans for are an absolute joke aside from racist and homophobic remarks.

Hmmmm.... can you post msg of what it says when you log in?

It would help clarify a few things.

I remember riot introduced a system of deleting account that you dont play back in season 3-5 i forgot. But basically if you dont habe enough gameplay time and rank then they will suspend or delete the account so that your name will be available for other people to pick

Are you actually arguing that your account wasn't botting? I mean I guess if it's somehow alright to have about 10 games a day of Coop vs AI playing the exact same champs and using the exact same build going to the exact same lane then switching to a different program a week later and repeating the process over and over to get to level 30... This is exactly how the botting process works for those selling fresh level 30 accounts for rank.

We have no way to measure your truth against Riot's. Riot's system has a very low chance of false positives on botting. What tends to happen is someone comes on the board saying how they absolutely didn't deserve to get banned for third party software.

There's nothing we can do about it. Did you submit a ticket asking them to double check? Yes? Okay, that's it. It's done.

I had an idea about appealing this.

If you play with your husband and friends then you usually queue with the same people. If your game history shows you queing with people who aren’t bots then 1. It kinda shows you’re a real person (who would queue with bots) 2. Maybe they can be used as character references in the ticket, although I’m not sure about riot’s privacy policy. They may not allow more than one customer to access a support ticket.

It's pretty rare, it might be caused by a lot of different things, like if you bought the account, if you used a cheat on another game or have/had a cheat engine installed on your PC or on any computer where you logged in, maybe you clicked on one of those "free RP" thingy and logged onto that, some mods used to modify champions skins or HUD in some cases, someone playing on your account, ...

It could have been detected month ago, they ban people in waves to avoid people knowing more about their detection methods. Unfortunately they won't give you any information about the program causing issue in your case for the same reasons. Anyway feel free to fill a support ticket, sometimes they make mistakes, it's rare but we've seen a few people getting unban.
