Suggestion for Riot to handle trolling

Trolling is becoming a Serious Issue.

Hi Team Riot

So I opened the Trolling is becoming a serious issue board a while back to see if anything was been done about it. And the main response I got back is that it's too complex to get computers to handle trolls in games. So I'm offering an idea that maybe you guys can improve or work on. Even better yet Hire me and I'll personally work on developing a system for you guys. I am a developer. :D #DreamComeTrue hehe. Everyone can have dreams right :D hehe.

Anyways this is a system I propose.

Every game generally has a general pattern and what can be tracked by a computer is a players K/D/A and their Map Movements right. So Every position will have a majority percentage of movement in whichever lane is selected by that player (maybe you can track only up until 20 minutes to make records more accurate). EG: mids percentage of movement will mainly be mid say 60 to 70% or Jungle for example will be all over the map so will be difficult to check jungle but this is a starting point for lane positions. Now over time by tracking these stats and I think it would even be best if this tracking only happened on ranked games. Because normal games don't matter as much, but by tracking these stats and putting them together by using the tracked movement percentage based on a player's position choice you will be able to see if a player is spending more time away from the position they chose or if they are spending more time in position they chose. Now once you have their movement percentages based on a number of analyzed games, and the analysis will only get better over time the more games that are analyzed. you can compare their K/D/A to their movement percentages. The percentages would be like a true or false record. 50% in their chosen lane and 50% not in their chosen lane. Trolling players will have a pattern over all of their games. Now just because one game a player spends 100% of their game in another lane doesn't now mean they are a troll. Sometimes players swap lanes for strategy. But every player will have a general pattern that will start to develop over the more games tracked. And you can build a player average from this.

If a player is dying a lot outside of their chosen lane (based on their game movement) and their lane is taking the most damage this means they are ignoring their lane but if they are dying inside their lane it's a different story, that would just mean they a bad player and their skill level is low. If they are getting a high number of kills but their lane is the first to go and they have a low movement percentage in their chosen lane this means they are not defending their lane and it means they are not playing their chosen position. However if they win the game then it's not such a bad thing. If the team loses the game. Then their trolling is affecting other players games negatively. All stats will be account specific in this case.

At the end of the day if a troll wins a game for me I'm not gonna complain because I want to rank up and I feel the higher a player ranks the less trolling their will be. Perhaps I am wrong but I don't think I am. You can let me know.

Another way to even better this system is to only analyze players from a certain rank and below. I can't imagine any challenger ranked player trolling in a ranked game, I'm sure sometimes you do get them but I'm sure they are a lot less than in the lower leagues.

So my suggestion is for you guys to put a players K/D/A and Movement percentage together based on their selected position. Also another thing to take into consideration would be the champion they select. Example a someone using an Ivern in a lane and not jungling with him. I would personally set the ranking of these stats to not be very harsh because then they would be more accurate based on the number of games analyzed.

How you guys deal with the people with bad stats on their chosen lanes you can take away the privilege of playing ranked games until they better their position stats. which can then be tracked on normal games if their stats are too bad for them to play ranked games. If their stats fall below a certain amount then their privilege to play ranked games gets taken away until they better theis movement statistics. This would work because these movement statistics would not be based on skill level but simply on whether or not the person is playing their position they have selected. Unfortunately it would not stop intentional feeding. But it would make the trolling in ranked games a lot less.

Like I said in the beginning on this board this is just an idea I am offering to you guys to develop on. I hate trolls in my game when i am playing ranked games and I am trying my ass off to rank up mean time someone is stealing my farm in jungle and following me around the map when they chose to play ADC. Trolling is really getting bad and I love league of legends and would love for the quality of the game to stay and a decent enough level that I can still enjoy playing the game. So please look into this.

And other people are more than welcome to expand on this. Let's not complain but instead work together to get rid on the scum on our servers,

Hey fellow summoner, i do like the idea of being more strict on trolls etc. because they can be very frustrating. i do see some issues with this however, the lan tracking is think is a good idea to some extent, but lets say you trade your lane with someone because you both main that role and you're feeling generous and your in a lane you don't normally play and you get a little unlucky and die a few times to ganks, getting outplayed on your off role etc. it could definitely work against the player instead of for them. A second thought i had that could potentially not work within the set parameter would be the "inting sion" strategy while i've never seen anything like it before it is very possible that could trigger the troll detection. However using multiple parameters to judge this wouldnt be a bad idea, this idea seems its could work with a little work. Of course no one likes trolls so it would be cool to see this in games. Good luck on the rift and good idea.

Hey, this is the Player Behaviour board. It's unlikely a riot employee will see this post. I'd suggest going to Player Support and submitting a ticket.
