LMFAO RITO

Ok Riot. You win. A 14 day suspension. All bc I made a comment to a player that they were awful. Truth is, he/she is/was. Maybe the comment was out of line....MAYBE. But let's be honest Riot, your community is FILLED with players far more "toxic." I think it is time for me to say goodbye to LoL. Yeh, I was just B3, nothing special. Nobody is going to miss me, I'm sure there will be a troll on here to say 'good riddance' etc. blah blah blah. Sure I wanted to climb to silver, but that was really my only goal, bc I don't believe that spending the amount of time it takes to be at the diamond level is worth it in life.

And just fyi, the players that just taunt, or "ez" (which I have NEVER said), homophobic slurs, etc. are far more out of line, bc THAT is disrespect, which in your email you talked a lot about respecting players. Calling someone a "try hard" is NOT disrespectful. It is in-game banter which is NOT DISRESPECTFUL! And calling someone awful (if they are making those types of plays) should be shared with them. It is much easier than trying to explain how their build makes no sense, and explain how to have better positioning. They just take offense and say "fuck off" anyway, so whats the point in trying to help a community of players who don't want to help themselves (or THE TEAM for that matter, which Rito prides itself on lmfao) Oh yeh, I don't know what it is with this community, but this is the first place where "you mad bro?," "salt" and many other pathetic forms of instigation have become some norm, which for some reason, people think is just so hilarious...but really reveals that they are losers that care even less about winning and more about making another person feel badly. Sad. And, shows that they really think they are going pro or something, or need to brag to their friends about their rank. SMH

I think it is laughable that LoL tries to call itself a "sport." It is not e-sports. IT IS A GAME. So, e-gaming at BEST. A sport for what, carpal tunnel? I realized that I had become a LoL loser, spending too much time caring about winning meaningless games as there are FAR MORE IMPORTANT things in life. The addictive behavior that the game has created/instilled is great for business sure, but terrible for productivity and socialization (unless your form of socialization is LoL streaming, LAN parties etc.) I'm sure somebody will talk about LoL college Harvard players, blah blah blah....I'm still successful blah blah blah....I have a 4.0 in HS blah blah blah...truth is, there are far more things that ALL (including myself) of these people could be doing for/in society instead of occupying their time with a game that actually MEANS NOTHING LMFAO. Yeh, sure, it's your time, do what you want with it. I graduated with a degree in chemical engineering, and honestly wish I had never been introduced to this game. I will never recommend it to friends/family, nor will I ever allow my kids to play it.

So, wish I could say it was fun, but more than anything I wish I had the accumulated hours spent playing this game back in my life. And anyone with half a brain (good for you if you are a streamer/pro making hundreds of thousands of dollars lol) would realize that there are many other things in life that you could be spending YOUR valuable time on, and not giving it to RITO. Oh yeh, I'm sure they will remove this post real quick.

So thank you Rito for the suspension, I think it was just the thing I needed to realize I had become exactly what I didn't want to be.

Peace.

You're right, there probably are more people out there that are more toxic than you, but that doesn't give you the right to be toxic as well.

There is nothing wrong with trying to help other players. There is nothing wrong with suggesting other builds. There is something wrong with they way that you're doing it (and as a "person with a degree in chemical engineering" you would be able to figure this out). Saying something like "hey vayne next time I wouldn't build a deathcap" would be fine. Don't say "Vayne build a Bork you dumbass". Not that hard (even for an engineer)

Oh yeh, I don't know what it is with this community, but this is the first place where "you mad bro?," "salt" and many other pathetic forms of instigation have become some norm, which for some reason, people think is just so hilarious...but really reveals that they are losers that care even less about winning and more about making another person feel badly. Maybe because it's the most popular MOBA in the world right now? With more players trends are going to catch on quicker, kind of what happened with WOW.

I think it is laughable that LoL tries to call itself a "sport." It is not e-sports. IT IS A GAME. So, e-gaming at BEST. A sport for what, carpal tunnel?

Actually E-Sports have become one of the biggest industries in the past 5 years. The past two years alone, more people watched the League of Legends world championship finals than the Superbowl. Dota 2 has a prize pool of over 10 million dollars last year for their world championship, that was all crowd funded. Even ESPN has an E-Sports section. If you want to make an argument that E-Sports are pointless, so is every single sport. Football (by your line of logic) would be a sport for getting head injuries and concussions.

I realized that I had become a LoL loser, spending too much time caring about winning meaningless games as there are FAR MORE IMPORTANT things in life.

There are more important things in life, and if you can't get your priorities in order, then you should not be playing the game. However, there will always be better things you could be doing with your life. In order for your line of logic to work, you should never be able to have any time off at all. Under your paradigm, you should never watch TV, read non-educational books, watch movies, or even play video games at all.

The addictive behavior that the game has created/instilled is great for business sure, but terrible for productivity and socialization (unless your form of socialization is LoL streaming, LAN parties etc.)

All video games are addictive to someone, your argument is moot. I've actually met sever people in a League game whom I have gotten to know more by using Skype and playing League.

I'm sure somebody will talk about LoL college Harvard players, blah blah blah....I'm still successful blah blah blah....I have a 4.0 in HS blah blah blah...truth is, there are far more things that ALL (including myself) of these people could be doing for/in society instead of occupying their time with a game that actually MEANS NOTHING LMFAO.

You're right, if League consumes your life, you should probably stop playing. It's calling being a responsible adult. I play this game to relax and have fun, and I still do a lot for my community. Doing things for/in society and playing video games are not mutually exclusive.

Yeh, sure, it's your time, do what you want with it. I graduated with a degree in chemical engineering, and honestly wish I had never been introduced to this game. I will never recommend it to friends/family, nor will I ever allow my kids to play it.

I call bull shit. The way that you communicate on the boards, your grammar, and your rage makes me call bull shit. Learn to grow the fuck up and be an adult. I guarantee if you acted the same way that you did in the games that lead up to your 14 day ban to your boss, you would be fired. So because you're online and no one knows who you are or what you do, that just means that you can say and do whatever you want without consequence? Please.

And anyone with half a brain (good for you if you are a streamer/pro making hundreds of thousands of dollars lol) would realize that there are many other things in life that you could be spending YOUR valuable time on, and not giving it to RITO.

I do this to have fun and play with friends. Just because you chose to be an ass and not get the same experience, doesn't mean that's the case for everyone. Learn to grow the fuck up and be the adult that you claim you are.

I don't like the system and think it is subpar to the Tribunal, but everytime I see post like this, just makes me think that the system is indeed working,

Severity of your speech does not matter. The question is did you step over the line or did you not.

So what if others are bad? Are you perhaps unaware that doing what's correct doesn't mean it's right? Telling a madman to calm down is only going to aggravate him, and telling an idiot that he's stupid is only going to offend him.

You don't have to spend a lot time to reach diamond lol. You just need to have a 3 digit IQ

Actually its recognized E- SPORT. Its championships and tournaments have way more viewership than many other sports. Its professional players have higher salaries and prize pools than many sports too.
