Just curious does riot take into account everything that led up to a person flaming or is it a person gets triggered by another person flaming on their team and flames back but only one get reports the other and then the penalty happens.

I just got a banned and in the 3 games they showed as examples it was a jax that was toxic and an adc in another game but i responded. did they get punished considering their chat was just as offensive as my responses or does riot just let them slide cause they were petty enough to report me. The jax was even cussing the team out but he would space out the swear words.

Should I just turn chat off and is it possible to turn of team chat perm.

If your response violated the rules, then you violated the rules. You do not get an excuse to break rules just because someone else “started it” or “was worse”.

It is fully possible for every player in a game to receive a punishment if they all violate the rules. Players are only evaluated if they are reported - and they are only punished if they broke the rules, not just because they were reported.

Did you report them? If you did not report them and no one else did, then they will not be punished because no report = no review = no problem. if you did report them, wouldn't that make you as petty as they are?

They are both held accountable individually without consideration of the other. Note; this does not mean both will be punished. Factors like consistency of toxicity, and severity are taken into account. Different player's accounts may be in different standings so you may get a punishment, while the other person just moves a step closer towards being punished. You may get a chat restrict, while the other gets a 14 day ban, etc...
