I got banned and have a few questions

Okay so I got banned recently, for the first time in 7 years. I am not trying to appeal the ban like most people do on this board, but I do have a few questions:

  1. I have never recieved a warning before I got banned. Is that normal? I recall there being bans below 14 days (which is what I recieved), but I didnt have any of those, nor a chat restriction. How exactly does the banning system work? Is there an official Riot statement anywhere, because that would really help me cope with the situation.

  2. The chatlogs provided were only for a single game. Admittedly, I flamed pretty badly there but is one single game enough for a ban? I had other games where I flamed (not that much), but none of them was in the chatlogs.

  3. What does this ban mean? Am I still allowed to play LoL? And should I ever get banned again (which I am not planning to), will that be a permaban? Will I get my end-of-season rewards still?

Im kinda shocked right now, because I never considered myself toxic. I had some bad games where I went far over the line, but other than that I am usually the guy that tells the team to stop flaming and focus on the game.

As I said, Im not trying to make a "OMG RITO BANNED ME FOR NO REASON" post, I just have a few questions.

So you just got a 14-day ban, not a perma, right? If you hadn't been given chat restrictions before that, then you must have used hate speech. Be careful, because this means that you're on your final warning before a perma. One game of hate speech can do that.

Not sure how end-of-season rewards work after a 14-day, to be honest. If you play nice after your 14-day ban and get honors, you may have a chance.

  1. It is possible to skip punishment tiers depending on the severity of the offense (They are as follows: 10-game chat restriction, 25-game chat restriction, 14-day ban, permanent ban), and also possible through regular, positive play to reduce the punishment tier. You'll also, for an indefinite time period, not receive any hextech crafting supplies. Recovering them very_ loosely_ correlates to dropping a punishment tier.

  2. The email only shows 1 chatlog, but there should be 2 more accessed via the in-game client. Furthermore, its only a recent selection of games, not all the games you are reported for (probably).

  3. The ban is a last warning. You are allowed to play league again in 14 days, but recognize that any kind of outburst (even a relatively mild one) will likely result in a permanent ban.

As for end-of-season rewards, we have no idea. Last year, if you were issued a ban on or after August 7th, you became ineligible for season rewards. This is not guaranteed to be the same this year, but I would assess it as more likely than not that you would indeed receive end-of-season rewards sans another punishment. Obviously, a permaban will completely prevent any end of season rewards because the account will no longer be available.

In terms of getting the ban. Have you had chat restrictions prior to this? If not, more insight could be given with the chat logs being posted. This would also help you maybe learn what you need to try and avoid.

For the rewards, you have 4 or 5 months to drop down in tiers. This would mean playing many games and not getting reported.
