Toxic players slipping past the system/Bring back the Tribunal

I've recently gotten many "A player you recently reported has been issued a penalty" messages, as I do not condone any sort of toxic behavior from either team, and I do my best not to feed the troll. However, I've started to realize the people that I get penalized aren't even the toxic players.

The people being penalized are ones who say one homosexual/racial slur. On the flipside, the players I come across that constantly tell others to contemplate suicide, insult people's families, and tell others that they were a failed abortion get off scott free.

The most toxic players even know they're invincible. I have come across so many devil incarnates that say things like "dw i won't get banned. trust me" or "i flame all the time and never been banned once. gl getting me banned". But then, one guy says "%%%%%%" in chat and within 20 minutes, he has a 14-day suspension. I think bringing back the Tribunal would greatly impact the League community in a positive way. Clearly the team that issues penalties are all bots or are sick and twisted, thinking "hang your mother, kill your dog and then hang yourself" is less toxic than "%%%%%%".

If you've been bewildered by how the epitome of toxicity can roam around freely flaming people, and guys who slip a slur once in awhile get 14 days to permbans, then please speak out. Anyways, I appreciate your time if you've read the entire thing. Hopefully, you related in one way or another. If you're one of those toxic devils, know that you are in fact being reported every time, but the system hasn't picked up on you yet. But it will.

I'll also be adding a poll to see how many of us would like to bring the Tribunal system back.

Quick description of the Tribunal for those who weren't around/don't remember it: Players could review chat logs and statistics of games, and could choose whether or not the accused party was guilty or not, and it would greatly influence the final decision.

It doesn't matter if portions of the community want it back. There were problems that make it nonviable as a solution to the problem.

  • It was slow and resulted in an ever increasing backlog.
  • It was subject to the whims of the voters, whom may or may not be voting with clear consciences. Just as you could get a troll in your game you might get someone who was troll voting (just voting punish/pardon for every case no matter the content).

The first one is a bigger problem than most realize. It taking a long time to dole out punishment greatly diminishes the effect of the punishment. If you punish someone for their behavior in a game months after the fact they're not going to have that game clear in their memory. It also makes it so they could have had several dozens of games that deserve punishment before the first few games finally caught up to them.

You should take a look around the boards. People post chat logs that directly contradict your accusations.

Toxic players slipping past the system

Good. Fuck man, if you have a problem with a player you simply mute them and move the hell on. I definitely don't believe in bans for what you type in chat to an extent since anyone has the ability to ignore what you say(unless mental condition) or mute you
