Permanently Banned

I saw on another thread that someone was permanently banned because it was their 8th penalty for being toxic or whatever, but why doesn't Riot just chat restrict people permanently because trolling is clearly a bigger issue and not the problem in this case... After spending $1,000 I got permanently banned after 1 14 day suspension... With very little warning tbh. Can Riot honestly just remove chat from a player such as myself instead of making it harder not warning me and just permanently banning me. Unless of course its about the money thinking that I'll just spend another 1,000 on a new account..?

Unfortunately, you had a few chances to reform and didn't take them. A 14 day suspension is reached by using hate speech or going through 3 other punishment tiers. (10 game chat restriction, 25 game chat restriction, 14-day gameplay ban.) There's not much anyone can do considering you were most likely a repeat or severe offender. Sorry man.

All I can suggest is that if you really love the game to the point where you want to return, focus on taking a break and reforming first. You want to start off with a clean slate and going into that with a fresh, positive mindset is the best way to do it.

they tried continuously escalating chat restrictions...

the result was the people who were chat-banned for long amounts of time started just trolling in game instead of in chat...something you just admitted is worse

After you receive a 14-day ban consider it the last warning. After that even a mild amount of toxicity will trigger a permaban.

You got plenty of warnings, chat restriction, 14-day ban, unless you acted so toxic it skipped straight to a 14-day ban.

Just cause people spend different amounts of money doesn't mean they are treated any different.

It has been proven in multiple studies that permanent chat restrictions increase in-game toxicity.

At the end of the day if you do reform and improve one day a ban lift may be possible as riot has tested that possibility.

For some people just seeing the coffin ⚰ is not enough, they need to be laid in it to get it.

For others , just the thought of it is scary enough.

You spent $1000 on an account and then went on toxic rants in games? I mean, I don't know about permanent chat restrictions, but you need to work on impulse control.

Funny you say "why doesnt Riot permanently chat ban people because trolling is the bigger problem.." because thats actually why they STOPPED doing permanent chat mutes. It would cause players to resort to trolling more often, instead of just flaming in chat. I think we all agree wirh you that trolling is the bigger problem, so that idea would be a bit counter productive.
