Is it possible to deescalate future punishments or am I now forever at risk for a permanent ban?

Hello! I'm a semi-competitive player on NA and recently I got banned for the first time since I created this account in 2013 or 2014, somewhere around that general time.

The details behind the ban are pretty simple, I got butthurt at somebody for going 0/12 on Yasuo as our ADC, and I called him a racial slur to which I take absolute full responsibility for.

Now that's out of the way, this being my very first ban, I plan on making it my last. I am absolutely determined to reform myself and achieve a high honor level this season as a means of incentivizing me to avoid toxicity in the future. (shooting for Honor Level 3 or higher). I just have a few questions pertaining to my ban which are as follows

  • Will this ban be a factor for the rest of my time using this account, meaning if I get a valid report on me 4 years from now will I get permanently banned since I receieved a 14 day ban 4 years ago?

  • I couldn't find a straight-forward answer to exactly how long my honor level will be locked upon the ban being lifted, so just how long may I be dealing with a locked honor level?

  • How viable is it to go from Honor Level 0 to 3 within a season? Roughly how much effort and/or time would it require?

  • (Off-topic) How can I better control my anger while keeping chat available since I believe it to be essential for competitive play?

Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope that I can learn from this crazy experience!

Your punishment standing decreases by games played. For an player with average game time, it takes around 3 months to drop a punishment tier. If you want a clean account, you need to drop 3 tiers.

Honors has got nothing to do with punishment and is not an indicator on whether your punishment tiers have dropped. Your honors progress depends on the games played and your behavior. Having a neutral chat will progress your honors at a normal rate, the progress is accelerated if you have positive chat, but if you get validly reported, your honors progress will hit a screeching halt.

For reference, streamer ImaQTPie got from h1 to h2 in 3 weeks, keep in mind he plays 12-15 games a day and people at the higher ELOs rarely report each other. A PB regular got from h1-h2 in 3 months. I've seen people stuck on h1 for a whole year, but that dude was still kidda toxic, so go figure.

it will take a good while to step back down the punishment ladder.

best advice to you is do not say anything in the game,

if you must , keep it on the game at hand, such as rotate mid, lets drag, baron, push mid. very generic , dont directly speak to someone or use anything that is questionable because the next slightest infraction can lead to a perma ban.

i believe as you re gain honor as you play your punishment tier comes down, not exactly 1 for 1 but it helps to show you "reformed"

best of luck

https://support-leagueoflegends.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/207489286-Instant-Feedback-System-FAQ-#h1q3 This IFS system is almost 5y old. Good luck. Other comments are constructive.

https://support-leagueoflegends.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/209939463-Honor-and-Hextech-Crafting-Restrictions As you can imagine, Riot Games doesnt provide on purpose precise numbers "play X games in Y days to avoid a permaban or to get to Honor Z" because trolls would try and circumvent the systems.
