Please make a disable chat option in settings

I can't seem to control myself when someone starts to flame me. I know I shouldn't flame them back, but I can't seem to help it. I need this option. I need to disable chat altogether. It's the only way I can actually control myself during game.

I have played this game for so many years that my patience has worn far too thin to tolerate multiple teammates ganging up on me. So I beg of you, Riot, if you care to listen.

I become infuriated the minute someone begins to flame me/tilt me, and I can't seem to stop myself from saying dumb shit I know that I shouldn't. Please add a "disable chat" option in the settings, it would help a lot of players with self control issues, including me.

PS: it should be made that you can only access it in the client, not in game. This way, you cant decide to undo it and then flame your teammates. It prevents you from doing it altogether, which is good.

I absolutely agree with Original Poster. It would solve a good portion of the Toxicity problem Riot pretends to care about, and literally would take little to no effort to include. Just a little bit of altering to the already in place code for disabling all chat. Except for this:

This could lead to issues when determining whether people are refusing teamwork intentionally or sabotaging allies.

Riot tried this before and found that most players found other ways to be toxic.

A lock is only as good as the thief picking it. If a player's determined to ruin the game for someone else, he'll find a way.

If you really wanna disable yourself from chatting there is a way to hide chat in the config files overall. There was like a 2-4 min youtube vid on it. (All it really does is literally hide your chat by making it the size of a pixel it seems)
