So i was chat restricted for 10 games after a duo flamed me for literally 30 min's in game. ( i don't mute because i feel that it hinders communication and can cause for games to be lost more then won. I don't tilt easy) So after the game, in the lobby, they continued to flame me, and i defend myself(i did curse a little to much ill admit) They were flaming me because i lost top lane, after the duo(mid and jg) fed double buffs to my top lane when i was at base(i backed low, didn't die) and then i just couldn't fight him top anymore(the match was gp vs darius) So anyways, the two flame me all game, calling me trash, ect ect, and saying a ton of negative stuff to even the other team mates. The enemy team even agreed with me. Anyways long story short, after that game i log off, next time i log on im chat restricted. And the examples they send me were of that match, how is it fair that we get flamed all game, and then we defend our self. we get punished, do the people who review reports even read both sides of things? Or is this a case of a faulty system that is easily abused?

Riot's policy is that your actions are your responsibility. It does not matter what outside forces influence you to act like a bellend; if you misbehave, it's on you.

If they were flaming you for more than 5 minutes, they weren't interested in communicating at all. You could mute them, they'd be able to hear you, and you could both send pings to communicate what you need to.

You didn't defend yourself, otherwise you wouldn't have been given a chat restriction. You responded in kind, rather than taking the high road and not stooping to their level.

Every player is judged according to their own behavior, regardless of the behavior of others. If they were flaming you for 30 minutes, they'll be judged for that. If you flamed them back for 5 minutes, you'll be judged for that. This isn't kindergarten where "he started it" works as an excuse, you are expected to behave better than them.

"Defending myself" Against what?

They never read both sides. They only read the side of the person who has more friends in that match. So if you solo queued and had someone who had 3 people queue together they take their side because more people report the same person for no reason at all...

They literally don't read both sides. They only look at what you say without any context or anything.

They simply do not care. If you are toxic, even if it's in response to someone being toxic to you, you will get punished as well.

It's an ass backwards system, but that's how they're doing it. You can only hope that the duo queue will get their punishment too.

And muting someone who is flaming you will not make you lose much. The only thing you actually lose is their flaming. And if their flaming falls on deaf ears, you are not going to be flaming back, and you will not be punished.

They read both sides. Both sides are wrong though, and two wrongs don't make a right.
