Ideas to reduce toxicity in ranked league play
Guys... league has become one of the most toxic communities in the world. I'm only been playing since season 5 but I've seen a dramatic increase in toxicity over the past couple years.
Why are people toxic? Cuz league makes you feel great if you win and terrible if you lose.
My solution: make people feel way less bad when they lose.
Details: If someone on your team afks and your team loses, have the person who afked lose 25LP and the rest of the team lose 10LP.
If someone on your team ints and has a KDA of like 2 14 3, the person who tilted and fed loses 25LP and the rest of the team lose 10LP.
If you play extremely well, like 14 2 14 KDA the rest of the team plays like trash and you lose, you should lose 10LP.
If you come back and win a heavily losing game, you should get 25LP.
If you play like trash and win, you should only get 15LP.
Basically, this system will make people more personally responsible and will incentivize people to:
- Don't surrender because if you come back you get more LP.
- Don't tilt when 1 team member is inting, you are only going to lose 10 LP.
- Don't get punished and pissed off when someone AFKs. (why TF should I lose 20LP and need to win 2 games just because someone clearly afked?)
- If you play really well, you won't be punished as much, so people who are good will be less likely to just give up.
PLEASE TRY TO POKE SOME HOLES IN MY PROPOSED SYSTEM. I feel like this is common sense and I don't see why Riot isn't actively trying to prevent toxicity in the community.
