Discussion: what do you guys do for living?

See i wonder, when i go to a lol game, my only intention is to win, because every game you lose is 30-40 minutes wasted that you arent getting back. That more frustrating it is if you are doing great and lose to bad teamates

As a person who has a job, i dont have 24/7 free time, so i can only play when i dont work, so every second for me counts. And then i get into a ranked game where the person goes 0/8 and you check his match history and his last 5 games he went 0/6 on lane or 1/7 or similiar, and it makes me wonder

What kind of jobs do you guys work that you got THIS much free time to waste?

like dont get me wrong i like my job very much, as i like my income, and my work hours arent horrible. But the ammount of time some of yall have so u can waste it to feed every game and complain about people being toxic to you instead of trying to improve, mindblowing So imma wondering, what kind of jobs yall working? I want to have 10 hours a day to waste by going 0/8 as ADC every game, sounds like heaven (i understand some of the peeps live with their parents but for them school should exist, but this thread is directed to those 18+ with a job)

How does winning change that you waste 30-40 minutes per match? If your time is so limited, why not try to enjoy every game, even those you are losing?

I'm a junior in high school who has given up all hope on passing math so I use league as a healthier coping mechanism

I'm my company's network operations manager. I have a healthy work/life balance which is certainly not the norm for people in IT, but it's important to me to have that. I've been gaming since I was a child. I don't get in a crapton of game time, but League is still fun after all these years, and Kingdom Hearts 3 is taking some time away from League for me right now. :) I certainly don't have 10 hours a day for gaming, though.

There could be a lot of situations where someone COULD have 10 hours a day for free time. Top of the list would be young people who are still in school, college dudes & dudettes enjoying their free time, or adults who give up waaaaaay too much sleep. :)

Currently, I work at a small gambling parlor. Previously I worked as an Elementary School teacher.

My playing is dependent on what is available to play and my mood. With ARURF and NB I could actually play multiple games in a sitting. Normal or ARAM I might do 1, maybe 2 before taking a break to play something else, like Runescape.

In broad strokes, I find security positions for qualified veterans. I have a pretty rigorous quota, so I'm fairly busy throughout the week, but during the day I take somewhat frequent breaks and often find myself on the boards.

Maybe people do poorly because they don't have the time to put in to improve? My husband works a full time job in medical research leaving the house around 7:30 and getting home around 6:00. I am a seasonal employee with the park service so I work with little time to spare 6 months out of the year and spend the other 6 months doing other work around the house and such (and a lot of reapplying for next season plus volunteer time to improve the resume). Since we have such little time, we don't really play very much and just enjoy bots together in the evenings before going to bed sometimes not even taking time for that. In fact, my Ranked career stopped (for many different reasons, but this was one of them) right around the time I started to work and got married.

If someone has a few matches where they didn't do well, that may not be them "wasting time" because they have "time to waste", but rather they may just be squeezing in a few games and they just didn't do so well that evening. It's not cool to make assumptions that people are doing poorly because they have too much time on their hands. Everyone has bad games, even streaks of bad games, and it's more likely a player isn't highly skilled for the opposite reason you state -- they don't have much time on their hands to dedicate to getting good at an online video game.
