What’s up metalheads!
We’re some of the guys behind Pentakill’s debut album, Smite and Ignite. We’ll be around for the next few hours or so to answer any questions you have about the album’s creation, the guests we had contribute, and why Pentakill’s bringing the solo back!
We are Praeco (composer, guitars, mixing, programming and production), Riot Kyugene (bass) and ProtoShredanoid (guitars)!

Anyways, here are some of m questions about yer album!
Was there any specific reason for some of the items you chose as titles? Some of them seem like stuff Pentakill members would get (

). others seem odd (

What specific bands were your inspiration for the music and, likewise, what specific bands did you consider picks for Pentakill's personality?
Do you feel that this is a one time thing or might you go make some music tracks for, say, a champion release or otherwise?
Any other music genre bands you like to put into LoL? Something classic like Jazz or Classical or maybe something more recent/interesting like J-Rock or Dubstep? (I dislike dubstep but whatever floats yer boat)

For the track names, we just chose the most metal sounding items we could find. This had a lot of debate around it because there are quite a few metal ones, haha (Bloodthirster, Liandry's Torment, etc). As for Ohmwrecker specifically, we gravitated towards that item almost immediately because it sounded exactly like what a lot of prog/djent metal bands name their albums/songs.
We all had different phases of metal that we went through, so we just drove towards a style of metal that fit best with all of us.
We're always trying new things and seeing where LoL, music, etc takes us--we don't know the answer to this one, but that's kind of what makes it fun, haha.

ZylotheWolfbane42 votesWill Sona ever get any sound effects for her Pentakill skin, since right now she uses the standard Sona sound effects, which is EXTREMELY unfitting, what with it being these light, happy harp-like sounds that clash with her awesome heavy metal skin, and it just makes the skin incredibly disappointing, which is unfortunate, since the skin is so awesome.

The audio team is cramming hard on a lot of cool stuff right now and this is at the top of my priority list for when I get freed up. Not sure when that will be or if it'll happen--but it bugs me just as much as it bugs you.

RiotPraeco46 votesI think it would be possible for us to play Pentakill live in the future... We would definitely have to practice a lot. :) So for the near future, I think it's not so likely, but further in the future and for special occasions... Maybe.
If enough people would wanna see it, it's definitely possible.

In the new splash art she's got some sweet tattoos, but those aren't there in game, so it's a bit misleading now. :p Also, how probable is it that more Pentakill albums will be released in the future? Smite and Ignite is amazing, but a bit short by standards. (At least, my standards) Thanks! Rock on. \m/

Riotkyugene24 votesI think one of the longest running jokes we had while making it was naming riffs after wrestling moves. The riff during the chorus of Thornmail was called the "Double choke slam" because the two tom hits before each downbeat would be grabbing a neck per hand, with the downbeat being us slamming them. Yup. Wrestling. Metal.

Could have at least made it a metal fusion like you did with your other 2 instrumental songs. So my question again, Why, Orb of Winter, an orchestral song?
RiotPraeco33 votesWell, in our twisted minds, Thornmail was kind of the last battle on the field, with all the warriors slaughtering each other and the Pentakill lords of war destroying the last resistance of the enemy's army.
Orb of Winter then is the scenery after the battle - As if you were marching over the battlefield, in between all the dead bodies, lamenting their death and seeing their souls leave their bodies. A requiem, dedicated to the fallen warriors on the battle field.

RiotProtoShredanoid27 votesTechnically, Lightbringer is not tuned down at all. It's a seven string :p For Deathfire, the solos were so fast that we had to tune the recording down so human ears could comprehend all of the notes. The drop tuning is for your own safety.
