Ranked Players Trolling Normals

Hey!

While testing this forum, I'd also like to hear some ideas from people about their experiences with people coming out of ranked games trolling people in normal games, but more important, if anyone has any ideas on what to do about it.

I played enough ranked games to get into gold, then essentially quit ranking up. I regularly bring in new friends to play, or enjoy playing with friends who only want to play normals, too. It's really tedious putting up with ranked players making demeaning comments to everyone in normal games (ironic as they join normals). I realize the most basic solution is to mute the player, but surely there are more options or approaches to utilize.

Perhaps it is my (bad) luck to see this as a common experience, where ranked players essentially troll normal players in their games as "baddies" playing "unimportant" games (with plenty of other derogatory language); or is it? Has anyone else noticed this occurrence? It may simply seem "common" because it stands out so much.

It is not welcoming to new or causal players, so it seems worth addressing (beyond just muting/reporting the toxic player if possible).

Thanks for the discussion in advance :).

This phenomenon is especially annoying thanks to the emergence of third party websites that list people's records. I do not play ranked, it does not interest me, it is not what I want to do when I play league. I want to play with 3-4 of my friends and just have a good time. This means I am limited to normal games and ARAMs. This also means that on those third party websites I show up as un-ranked and so I am harassed in game as some sort of lesser citizen of the game (the parlance of "baddie" or "bronzie" is used often). I do not enjoy this.

Just because I chose not to play the game as you do, does not mean I am any less skilled. If you played basketball in a competitive rec league that keeps score and has team standings and I only played with my friends at the local park without keeping score really does not mean I could not play well with/against you.

This taunting and teasing behavior is annoying and I wish there was a way to block these third party websites, since they are the source of much of this behavior I believe.

Sadly, I think malcontented people will look for any excuse to pick on other players. If they're in a trolling mood, it doesn't really matter whether you're Bronze II or Diamond IV. When you give up first blood, they might call 'gg' and say you've lost the game. If they gave up first blood, they'll call 'gg' and figure out a way to make it your fault.

All you can do is try to keep a clear head, play on, and use the tools available both during the game and afterward to prevent them from bringing you down - and hopefully to remove their ability to ruin games for other players down the road.

Improve your MMR. That's the solution to all these issues here. The best players don't act like dicks. Everyone must understand the matchmaking system fowards and backwards. Riot needs to expose the REAL number that matters. You are paired with similarly skilled individuals, and you don't get good by trolling and harrassing.

How do you improve your MMR? You yourself need to carry the worst and best teams. Sometimes you will fail, and sometimes you'll succeed, but you have to try your best to carry the team no matter what role you pick to play at champion select.

Don't die unless it is worth it. Assist your team with killing. Get kills. CS. Take objectives. Help your team every game and you will get better MMR>
