Dear Riot, please don't let Lee Sin dominate the next season jungle

Looking at the new jungle changes, I fear Lee Sin is going to be one of the few junglers that can actually survive the new jungle.

Thus, Lee Sin will once again reign the supreme emperor of the jungle for perhaps another season. Even though you finally toned him down (Still picked a shit ton though), it looks like he's making another comeback.

Sorry Riot, I'm not interested in all the "#LCSBIGFLASHYPLAYS" Lee Sin makes. Just because he makes cool looking plays doesn't mean he's healthy to the game. I don't like seeing him in every normal, ranked, and pro game and wish not to see him again in those games.

better yet, delete him

I think it was Morello (correct me if I'm wrong) or some other red that stated earlier that if they nerfed Lee, there'd be too much backlash.

It was really the moment where I lost faith in the entire balance team. They're fine with nerfing anything else. But Lee? Nah.

#LCSBigPlays. Lee is never going away.

Can't Flee the Lee.

In all seriousness, daddy's favorite child is never going to be nerfed. The cancerous Lee Sin fanbase will make sure of that, and Riot is too worried about teh espurts to bother with actually balancing the game. As long as Lee Sin maka da playz, he's going to get superficial nerfs at best.

Lee Sin is fine. I'm not even a Lee Sin main.

I know I'm going to be down-voted by every single lee-sin hater who refuses to objectively look at stats and other data.

Over the past month, guess where Lee Sin sits in terms of winrate? 45%. Yes, win rate isn't "everything" but let's take a step back and really think about that statement.** If you play Ranked (and or are a pro player) what do you want to do?** Win. How do pro players make worlds and get high cash prizes? By winning. What do you think the pro players care about? Winning. So, if a champion, like Lee Sin, Leblanc, or Rengar, are really low on win rates, aka people are LOSING by playing them, do you REALLY think that they will keep playing those champions when their** JOBS or RANK depends on them?** No. So, yes Lee Sin isn't "overpowered".

Now, let's actually look at why people hate Lee Sin so much. He makes "flashy plays" and is "dominate". Well Mr. What do you consider dominate? I mean sure Lee Sin is played is most games at the pro level. Even so, he's only breaking a tad bit above 50%. Yet, if we look at Rammus a jungler who isn't considered amazing, Rammus pulled off 100% win rate in 3 games also having the top KDA for the role in those 3 games. Yeah... Let that sink in. So, everyone is complaining about Lee Sin because he can make "flashy plays" but his stats like KDA and Win rate don't paint him as a top overpowered jungler. So, why are we screaming for his head?

Lee Sin simply has the same syndrome as Shaco or Leblanc had. Everyone hates them because they are simply annoying to play against. So, in all reality, if you just hate lee sin because he's annoying that's fine. But, if we look at Leblanc who wasn't even over 48% at her prime for winrate (which people cry is an underpowered champ then), people whined and complained about her being "OP". But wait, if under 50% win rate by a lot, like Lee Sin at 45% win rate, is underpowered, WHY IS EVERYONE WHINING HE'S TOO STRONG? And the simple answer to that is the skill floor. Lee Sin is a champion who is terrible, but in the right hands of pros who have played hundreds of hours on him can actually make him work. He is really crappy, but the base utility of his kit allows pro players to make #LCSBIGPLAYS because they can perfect his combos. He is worthless other than that. So, people hate Lee Sin because he has a super high skill floor that can be only utilized really by people with hundreds of hours on him. Is that **REALLY **op?

tl;dr: Yes, Lee Sin is annoying to play against, but where is the raw data to back up he's "OP" as claimed? By standards set by the community he would be considered "underpowered" except people just hate playing against him. Please be objective before you cry for champions to be gutted.

People are mistaking this thread on the topic of Lee Sins balance. This is discussing Lee Sin enormous pick rate on all level of play.

I can't help but think that if you make more qualities valuable in a jungler, then rather than junglers in different niches being strong the only junglers who will be strong are those who fit multiple niches.

In other words, current meta picks such as lee sin and kha zix who can clear well, duel well, gank well, and have some element of sustain will continue to dominate in the new jungle if nothing is done.

Versatility will be so prized it may even bring elise back into prominence. Yay.

I agree with u and some junglers will need buffs to help them out in the new jungle

Boswick11/7/2014, 11:34:16 PM2 votes

Don't worry, their goal for next season's jungle is to "increase jungle diversity"... just like the last 2 seasons.

Agent209011/6/2014, 2:39:42 PM2 votes

I think junglers that can easily secure dragon will see a lot more play, since the dragon changes it'll become an even higher priority. Nunu will probably see a lot more play. Elise and Cho'Gath also come to mind.

Then again, I'm not the most experienced at reading changes and applying them to champion strengths without actually playing it. So I'm not too sure if the other jungle changes will couteract the aforementioned champions.

I honestly think if riot wants to balance lee, they should nerf his early game power and buff him a little more mid-late game. This way he can keep up with Kha Zix/Rengar while still going tanky.

Mountain Warden11/7/2014, 5:40:43 PM2 votes

I think Lee Sin is just fine at this point. I think his high pick rate is due to his versatility. You can build him tanky and he's reasonable to taking damage. You can build him glass canon and he can snipe a squishy really quick. Although both the build paths are viable on this champion, they also create weakness. Tank lee sin has low damage output and glass canon lee sin can be blown up easily. I think he can fit in any team comp which is what people hate since he's so adaptable.
