Optical vs. Laser Mouse?

Right now I have a Laser Logitech M510 (pretty cheap, but pretty good as well), and I wanna look into a new mouse because I feel I could get better in-game performance.

What is the real difference between optical and laser? I've heard people go both ways and wondering which I should go.

I was looking into one of these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00L8KMM5M/ref=olp_twister_child?ie=UTF8&mv_style_name=1&qid=1453221717&sr=8-1

There's a link, #6 is what you're looking for, but in short Optical mice are better are they're more reliable and precise.

A lot of the gaming mice depends greatly on a user, and hand style they have.

For me personally I like much larger mice than normal as I have a Palm style: where the rear of the mouse sits in the "palm" of my hand and my fingers will "rest of the button in a relaxed state. There are many other styles like claw and so forth.

Currently I have a 16kdpi optical mouse with the sensitivity up all the way I can "Twitch" and be on the other side of the monitor. Personally I love razer(razerzone.com) their mice imo are amoung the top in the world. I have been through Roccat, Logitech, and a couple of others. Logitech has a solid brands from wireless to their G-Series mice.

But the real questions wouldn't lay with brand but your personal preference and opinion. (Some copied from link)

What hand style do you have? Do you like a certain thing on a mouse? (Eg: Macro buttons)? Shape (Personal Preference)? Size (Personal Preference)? Weight (Personal Preference)? Build Quality? RMA Support? Perfect Control Speed/Malfunction Speed? Sensor Position(usualy preffered to be center)? Price (DUHHHHH)?

The mouse I fell in love with a long time ago was the Razer diamondback, and only recently have they brought it back. and I love it.

usually i find laser mice to be the better alternative, they usually have higher dpi than optical, and optical can be finicky with certain surfaces to track movement. If you are looking at something nice, and both cheap, i have this http://www.anker.com/product/98ANDS2368-BA

And cannot praise it more for it's layout, and just is flat out a very nice mouse. Playing games is never a problem and is decent price, so it isn't liek your dropping 80-100 for something that can break a while down the road when you drop it, 8.2k dpi is nice and custom keys work just fine if you only need a few. Only gripe on it is that you can change the symbol color but mouse wheel stays blue :/ but very simple and easy to use.
