Riot Vortigern from player support sent me....~$1 for +100 RP option / single skin purchases ?
I sent a support ticket to Riot about improving RP purchase options, but player support apparently cannot directly pass feedback reports to the development team so was directed to the boards by Riot Vortigern...be gentle.
The $5 for 650 RP option can buy you anything costing less than or equal to 650 RP, but you cannot buy a 750 skin unless you spend $10 (resulting in leftover RP for future purchases, which is great if you have the money at the time and are planning on spending more at a later date).
Why can't we just be charged $6-6.50 for a 750 skin etc.? In other words, why can we not directly purchase a single skin or more and have to abide by the default RP bundles?
I.E. I have 74 leftover RP and after spending the $5 on the 650 RP option will only have 724 RP and cannot buy my brother King of Clubs Mordekaiser for 750RP today on his birthday (today) unless I spend $10 dollars and will then have leftover RP I do not currently need because I never wanted to spend that much for a single skin not worth that much. Admittedly, if push comes to shove of course I will spend the $10 for the 750 skin and the leftover RP and most likely mystery gift or just wait on another skin someone likes, but the inability to just buy a single skin at a time and work around leftover or missing RP is just inconvenient. The more $ spent with the RP options gives bonus RP, but not everyone wants to spend more than they need to at one given time. Seems like the Riot logic is getting more value per payment by incentivizing players to buy RP in bulk aka a rigid system where single item skin purchases are not possible. Banking on players stuck having to spend more than they might want to is business savvy I guess, but kinda sucky at this point when League is the E-sports king...Hopefully there is more to be done to allow players to spend more on skins since my entire family has spent plenty of money on the game in the last few years (check my account purchase history).
Not helpful to have to spend more than I need to spend just to get one or sometimes two skins. It's like going to the supermarket just for milk and the cashier says no you have to spend a $10 minimum to buy the milk so you give up and grab all the crappy candy, chips, and tabloids you can and storm out scared of how pissed your wife is gonna be when she sees the bill...and you cannot just pay in cash, torch the receipt, and eat the evidence because the cashier only accepts specific digital payments...
Not really sure why players cannot just buy the skins they want and be charged appropriately. There is only the 5-10-20-35-50-100 purchase RP options now. Not everyone can afford to pay for the difference between packages just for the sake of getting the +100 or so RP necessary. Most of these RP discrepancies can be avoided if there was a +100 RP option for about ~$1.
TL;DR Please allow single skin purchases for their RP value rather than only having the RP bundle options. Not everyone can spend the extra money every time they just wanna buy 1 750 or 975 RP skin. A +100 RP option for ~$1 is a good idea to round out one's total RP to secure a skin without having to invest in another $5 RP. I.E. pay $5 for 650 RP but need 100 more for 750 RP for a skin so spend $1 more for remaining RP and $6 spent overall rather than 2 $5 RP purchases ($ 10).
P.S. Paying players will keep coming back to buy more...and are not always in a package buying mood. More options to spend, more likely to buy. (Heroes of the storm gives $ value to single skin purchases...and not the magical RP value...and I uninstalled Heroes because it sucks...I love LoL just want my supplier to help out the consumer a bit more).
