Team Lobby Function - Switching between Game Modes\Maps
Give hosts of the Team's Lobby the ability to select a new lobby type if the current players in their group match the criteria for that lobby. For Example: If you have 5 players, part of the same ranked team in your Team's Lobby.
The Game Modes/Maps: Summoner's Rift (Normal Draft, Normal Blind, Ranked Team) Crystal Scar (Dominion Draft, Dominion Blind)
Furthermore if there was 5 players and they were not part of the same ranked team, all of these options but Ranked Team 5's would still be offered.
This is a **fundamental approach **to maps and game modes that many classic games before this have used to provide efficiency to a group of players without ending their session just to be made a new, particularly found in FPS games. I feel that it is important to learn from all genres of gaming especially when it comes to providing a more expansive and efficient user experience.
An argument you'd find against a system like this may consist of people wanting more control over what they are signing on to play and this would give the host more power that could have negative results. For example a player not wanting to be stuck playing Dominion because the host switched to Dominion and begun the match before objection was raised.
While it true the host started the queue, if all players are informed in an even more clear manner then any player could disable the queue or say no to beginning champion select.
Representation Examples:
- When the host changes the game mode/map, a line of red text declaring what change occurred in the team lobby chat.
- Declare the type of queue you are agreeing to join champ select in on the vote popup itself.
- Clear representation of the game mode you are queued for on the home-screen and that is more detailed then small short text that is not describing the type of queue and is limited to providing information on only how many players are involved.
All to further reinforce the player will have all the information needed to agree to being champ select with the 9 other people.
While this is a rather short issue in itself, it is expanded on to demonstrate that there is no negative aspect to providing this to players in league of legends. This will only improve the experience for users who play with friends by forming a group and will not affect any other player negatively. Further use could even expand to moving your entire party to a custom match if the feature were added and the host chose to do so. How this could be handled is in creating a simplistic tool from this feature in making customs more accessible to groups.
No longer does every player in the group have to search the lobby to find the session they want to join where customs are concerned or to merely receive an invite and end up joining a session that can not fit the rest of the players wanting to join in your game. With this group system, your entire group of 1 to 5 players can stick together, either joining or creating in customs as well.
Example: Selecting Customs in Team Lobby, allowing up to 5 members to be a part of for quick transitions between custom games and other game modes with keeping the consistent notion of not ending the team's session prematurely. To have sessions beginning and ending, accepting this invite and that invite for each change of game type, would become noticeably inefficient in comparison. Further additions such as allowing pre-arranged pick-order of your group of 5 players in customs, draft modes, ranked team 5's and ranked team 3's. All in further removing chance and flaws in functional ordering from occurring in the first place and allowing teams to be as organized as they strive to be.
More then likely I bored you at some point and more then likely this was way more simple then I made the argument for it out to be, but I can at least say this is a feature I feel would improve the experience.
