As A Game That Relies HEAVILY on Communication and Teamwork, We NEED Voice Chat.

League Of Legends is a game that relies heavily on communication. Riot even says it themselves, they want this game to involve a lot of teamwork. But my question is, why haven't we had a voice chat system yet? Sure, more toxicity is not fun. BUT you can mute the toxic person and then BAM, problem solved. Every sport/game that needs teamwork, also has a lot of vocal communication. Many people do not like to shotcall by typing. It takes up a lot of time, and you cannot play and type at the same time. If we had voice chat, we can play and type, which is beneficial to competitive players and casual ones, also. The biggest argument to not have it added is "it will add toxicity". Most likely people who are toxic in voice chat will also be toxic in-game chat, so that argument is invalid. You can also mute the person in voice chat and NEVER have to hear from them again.

Up-vote if you want so riot will see it and maybe add it in season 6!

The thing about it..... Yes we can mute them, but voice chat would bring in more problems than solve them. You also cannot say that the toxicity it will bring is invalid because we can mute them because that IS the issue. It is like claiming and complaining that every female champ in League is booty butt ass naked and them saying that Anivia doesn't count because she could have been considered a boy or is animal like.

  1. Not everyone is mature enough to use voice chat in League someone could...
  • Make your ears bleed by screaming or playing some extraordinarily loud sound. (Even if riot put a limit on how dB or something like that, it will not work the same for everybody since not everyone's sound card and mic / headset / earphones / and headphones are the same)
  • Put porn or something sexual / erotic in the background to play.
  • Just say a whole bunch of no-no words for no reason such as racial slurs or self moaning in an attempt to be funny or make the fact that they have barely had any sexual contact whatsoever a bit more bearable (No I am not trying to be funny or insult someone when I say that)
  1. Toxicity
  • Words hurt, but not as much as when you hear them directly (and even more-so right in front of you) You could have a full on flame war going on in voice chat and it would be even worse for it to be something you have to hear as compared to what is being typed.

  • It may be a tad harder to ban people for the presumptuous things that they say as compared to chat. If someone is being toxic in chat and they are reported, Riot can just read the chat logs easy peasy, simple and clean and decide what to do from there.

With voice chat they will have to listen to nearly every single thing said and determine what to say about the situation, not only that, but the players themselves may not be audible and how will they know for sure who is who that is spreading all the nasties? The guy that sounds like a generic 12 year old could be anyone there. Will Riot even INVEST in the time to have a system to record EVERY SINGLE second or every single thing said in voice chat and listen to them all? It sounds like it would use up too much time as well as too much space.

  • Some people may not want to voice chat and they could disable it, but their team may pressure them into activating it and the pressure is rarely if ever positive.

(That is not all I have to say about toxicity, I could go on and on, but that would cause this to be larger than it already is)

  1. Issues with sound
  • Believe it or not... not everyone has access to voice chat or even sound on their laptop / computer and while everyone else is speaking instead of pinging, the other person doesn't know what the hell else their team is planning or thinking, even if they notify their team that they cannot voice chat, not everyone will be willing to compensate for it.
  • Things such as static can still occur or people may voices sound bat shit terrible over a mic
  • Voice changers. While not bad can be abused. People who use programs to make themselves sound feminine (if they know how to act feminine as well that is an even bigger bonus) could trick the weak minded / horny / lonely into buying them skins, treating them differently or being more lax on them and realizing someone is a girl or being around one can be distracting even for the strong minded / sated / (semi) popular. (not all the time or in every situation mind you).

I could go on and on like I said on multiple subjects or advance on what I have already stated, voice chat may be able to work on plenty of games, but League is definitely not one of them due to it having some of the most toxic communities in online gaming.

Until they can get a mass majority of these trolls, feeders and whatnot (I am not saying that they are or are not), League is not ready for voice chat. While there will be some situations where there won't be anyone severely autistic (Not trying to be mean or funny) screwing around in voice chat, we sure cannot count on everyone.

Despite that, plenty of people on League are down to voice chat, so if possible while in the champ select screen or at the start of the game you can ask if anyone wants to Skype / Raid call or something

Yes, but it should be disabled for bronze and silver

if you mute them you cant hear them therefor if they dont ping but say it out loud you cant hear them and you will die from mia and ganks and making people tilt because they did not type it. This is not dota dude if you want communication over voice make a 5v5 team or play with friends over skype or just play dota.

Considering the shit I've seen in chat, no thanks.

Yeah you can mute people, but at least what they said before you decide to doesn't have a volume. And I wear headphones. So please, no thanks.

A voice chat will never be implemented, things can get realllllyy toxic if you don't do well.

Pass, honestly chatting with some peoples is tiring enough without having to hear their whinny voices.

Even worse, people would stop typing altogether, making it even harder for when you aren't in the mood to hear random people's bickering over your music.

but you could also say that if i just dont want to hear their stupid voice like so say a 11 year old kid i can just mute him but if they report me for not communicating with the team because they say mia mid and not ping it but say it this will cause a lot of bad things too forcing poeple to use pings and chat is better than players speaking to eachother and not pinging. This might also take new players away from looking at the map causing bronze players to lose the little map awarness they have.

Honestly...I dont want to hear or listen to any of you.
