This Matchmaking? [Normals]

i can relate, last weekend we had plats and golds v bronze and unrankeds...not funny RIOT

Your normal mmr is separate from your ranked mmr (for some reason). So your ranked division means nothing in matchmaking for normals. Odds are the lower ranked players got to low ranks and were frustrated so they played normals and got better working up a reasonable mmr, while the Platinum and diamonds played ranked exclusively for a long time and got better that way and their mmr was way behind their skill level for normals.

Combine this with some random chance and you get a lopsided game.
