Has Riot changed since I was last here?

From here on out I will be speaking in past tense, and accusations or judgement will be made from the information provided about 2 years ago.

Some background: I quit the game about january two years ago, and had my reasons.

A. I really felt as a PAYING fan, that I wasn't getting any service or feeling that my support was appreciated AT ALL. Riot had next to no communication with their playerbase whatsoever. No content was being pushed out at all, and Riot was highly hypocritical about anything they did, ignoring the important, and changing the unimportant. They would largely altogether dodge any issue presented to them by just stepping out of the way of things that ACTUALLY needed changing, then would provide balance or updates to things people didn't care about, then said "We know what you want and what is best for you", when clearly nothing had changed.

The champion designs was slowing to a halt, and power creep is something that ALL games are a victim to unfortunately, but some characters were just blatantly overpowered. Examples were Lee Sin being the epitome of Jack-Of-All-Trades that you just can't beat, and they would continue dumping their money into this overpowered BS they called content, and it would FURTHER limit the available "Meta" of champions to a narrow pick of about 5-6 per role, and THATS IT.

At the time, they implemented a system that for ranked, judged an INDIVIDUALS SKILL in a TEAM BASED GAME. It would have this stupid promotion system nobody liked, by showing that only the three games for promotion mattered, it don't matter if you are 10/2, if those 2 games lost were your promotion, you had to start over. Don't matter if someone you were with were completely toxic, you can just report them and that's all you can do.

See, in the real world, if you were up for promotion for your job, and someone on a team of your project totally was out of control and the project failed, you'd get that SOB fired, and you'd get your promotion anyway since it wasn't your fault. NOT HERE.

What Riot didn't get is that you are paired with RANDOMS. There is no consistency in teams, yet they treated the ranked system as if you had control when you win or lost, whereas it's the opposite.

Riot tried to tackle problems with player toxicity, and failed, HORRIBLY.

The 'Chat restriction' they had in place only made things worse, limiting your ability to help your team through communication; communication being the most important factor of a team.

I don't give a DAMN whether someone calling me racial slurs and saying he has intercourse with my mom, if he got the skill to go 45/2 and carry the game, he can talk as much shit as he wants, because it's a game. I'm not brittle boned, and people (Not just riot) need to stop being so overly sensitive about what an anonymous person over the internet says about how your hair looked.

The problem lied when someone purposefully ruining the environment for other players, purposefully losing, NOT LEARNING, or just "Trolling" which people like to call it; which by the way it isn't. Trolling is when everyone gets a laugh about something, not necessarily at someones expense, and we all continue on.

Those bait stories you see on 4chan that end with "And his name was John Cena."? That's trolling, this isn't, it's just people being dumb, but use the guise of 'trolling' because that somehow makes it acceptable.

I have no idea whether or not these problems have been tackled. I have friends who play the game, but after I kicked my unhealthy addiction to this game, I don't know if these issues have been fixed since then.

Convince me to rejoin.
