AP Champions Weakened?

Does anybody else feel like AP Champions as a whole are just a lot weaker than they should be? I mean they dont get as much AP at level 1 as they used to, their CDR is very hard to max out now without buying 2 of the 20% CDR items, meaning its harder to itemize, and their items are just so much more expensive (but i can forgive this last one). Throw some love their way rito. plz.
