Low priority games?

So I was just playing black market brawlers game mode and then my game froze.My internet turned limited for some reason and it usually never does this and so i went to reconnect after a few minutes of hoping it would turn on. It turned on eventually and i can read chat when my team posts but it still said attempting to reconnect, the only way to have made it work was to leave and so i did and came back and played the last 10 minutes of the match. then after the game i sent my friend a inv again to play another cause my internet was fine then it wouldnt send it to him so i restarted the client and when i got back on it said im in low priority, what does that mean? does this affect future gifts from riot?
