Will there ever be a flashy, stylish, playmaker support?

Lee Sin, Yasuo, Riven, Zed, Leblanc, Vayne... Is it just me or do all the bursty and flashy kits oozing with play potential get given to every role besides supports? It's all very well and good that we have Bard stunning you against a wall after you follow him down a tunnel, or Braum just shielding something, and even our boy Thresh looking cool with his chains... But do you ever really see those stupid over the top montages that fill the internet for supports? :O Whenever I do something satisfying as a support, it's rarely because of my mechanics or real ability. It's just "I stood between the ADC and the enemy so they could do something flashy" or "I healed someone by spamming one button and standing there". Will there ever be a time where I can play a support and go "WOW, LOOK AT THOSE MECHANICS BOYS!"? Just something that I've always been a bit grouchy about with supports in most games :( Just to clarify, I'm not saying supports are bad or it's an easy role that does nothing or any of that junk which I'm sure most people are misconstruing. I'm just talking about supports champions with outplaying and _mechanics _and the sort!

There are flashy supports, but compared to champions as mentioned in the post above, theres really no competition. Sure you can make hook plays with Thresh or throw a good ulti with Leona, but COMPARED to the other roles, supports are usually left out in terms of champions that are considered "play makers".

Don't take me too seriously, I don't play support all the time but this is what I think of it :/

Playing Janna agressively is pretty impressive

At least, I think it is

You're playing support wrong if this is what you think.

Supports are all about function over form. They get the job done and don't place such a high priority on looking cool in the process. It's like being a cop; it's not all about lens flares, car chases and firing your gun up in the air and going AAAA like in the movies. 99 times out of 100 you're going to be doing boring patrol work, filling out paperwork, carrying out a warrant and so on. That 100 scenario is when you get into a shootout or are involved in a crackdown or high speed chase, but in real life they are much more mundane than in the movies.

In the support's job, that 100 scenario is when you go above and beyond the call of duty, and I've had plenty of them in my time. I've shut down a 8/0 Zed as support NAMI, cockblocked a Twisted Fate right as he ulted to shut down Yasuo as Braum, scoring Yasuo his Pentakill, and got a Quadrakill as Lulu. It happens, but very rarely, and that's not our end goal. The end goal is to be the movers and shakers, the invisible hand behind the scenes that pushes the team to victory. If League was a movie, playmaking assassins like Zed, Yasuo, and Lee Sin are the actors, and the supports are the prop designers and special effects artists. Our deeds are largely unsung, but we make the magic happen.
