Riot truly doesn't care, huh.

I watched that vid by n3ac3y where he was explaining how much better of a company Valve is with DotA than Riot is with League, and I have to say I agreed with most of what he was saying. However lately I noticed that there hasn't been too many problems with this game and maybe Riot is acually starting to care about their player base, at least for the holidays.

Then suddenly, people get restricted, banned and punished for internet problems not caused by anything on their end. Trolls, Ragers and flamers are not punished at all because the tribunal has been down for how long? like over a year? Yeah the last time I heard anything about the tribunal was way back in s3. But as soon as your "firewall" doesn't let you connect to a game for the first 5 minutes you have to agree to some oath bullshit like Kalista trying to suck your soul and then you just get banned. This hasn't happened to me, but I've seen enough posts on these boards to know this is a problem. But just keep releasing skins, Riot.

Also, just today, at the end of a game where my trolling mid laner had 16 deaths at 25 minutes, there was no end game stats. The game wasn't counted in my match history. I got no LP deduction nor did I lose that game in my series (luckily). I couldn't start a new game, because it claimed I was "already in a game." What the hell? My friends couldn't log in without typing the code. My other bud is stuck in champ select. But it's ok, just keep releasing pointless content instead of fixing fundamental problems with this POS.

So now I can't play because I'm "in a game" and my other friend is stuck in champ select.

Oh and now PVP.net is shutting down yay.

VALVe: Continues making and updating games to this day, while also creating software. Frequency of problems: every now and then

Blizzard: In the works of making a brand new game on top of all the other incredible titles they have made that have revolutionized their fields. Problems? Rarely

Riot: Calls themselves Riot Games, when they have only made one game. Frequency of problems? Fuckin daily.

EDIT: Tried logging on after the problems were "fixed" and I've been stuck here for 5 minutes now: http://apollo-na-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/1419218924458/FuckYouRiot.png

If you think that Riot cares, you are poorly mistaken. Like any other company - it is about the money. Riot knows their time is coming to an end quite soon which is why they have highlighted new releases so they can suck what little money they can - while they still can. Just wait for the next MOBA to come out and see if they actually care about player experience since clearly this one does not. Their system is blatantly flawed for punishing players. For example just yesterday I received a report for "Verbal Harassment" on a player that stated he was going to feed and ended up going 1/22/2. Do you think that player will receive a penalty? Hell no - yet I bet if this happens again I'll get a chat restriction.

I'm quitting league probably....

I see a lot of people complain about Riot, and to be honest... it kinda of upsets me. Riot can't please everyone, yeah today kinda of stinked because everyone was unable to get on; nevertheless, you guys act like this happens all the time. The last time something this serious happened was in September, and that was due to a DDOS. Valve-Dota are different things compared to Riot-League btw IMO

While I agree that Riot doesn't care, if you think Valve does(when they hire 0 customer service staff and frequently have support ticket response times upwards of 6 weeks), you're mistaken.

Not going to speak to what I don't have experience with, but Blizzard has had their fair share of game-breaking connection related bugs etc, and blizzard fans have similar reactions on the forums. I realize how this can be frustrating right now, but you have to realize you are making this into a bigger problem than it is while glossing over the flaws of other companies. And that's another thing, I don't think it's a flaw with the company. I think any company is going to run into technical hurdles that give their fanbase headaches for a few days, and their engineers nightmares for a few weeks.

But there is no need to turn this into some nonsense about how riot is a terrible company and is just trying to suck money out of us while their infrastructure falls apart. Besides, does it really strike you as something a money-hungry company would do? Allow their virtual marketplace to fall to shambles? That's not going to be the result of a desire for increased revenue..

If you're going to use a video you watched as supporting evidence at least leave a link.

LOL in my opinion Riot does a GREAT job with this game. Nothing can run perfectly all the time, stuck in champ select? BIG DEAL servers go down for something and then the game is ended anyways. This post is obviously by one of those flamers you get from time to time.

Good points. But they want money, they are currently doing a emergency maintenance about lag issues. That could be why your still ingame and your friend is in champion select?

Indilwen12/22/2014, 6:02:49 AM3 votes

Instead of pushing new champs out quickly, what they need to do (and what they've talked about doing) is work on champion reworks and fixing a client that is bugged all to hell to this day....stop focusing on the game itself and focus on things that need to be done.

D0nC12/22/2014, 6:18:36 AM3 votes

I agree, the company must be called Riot game until something else releases.

Mindspeaker12/22/2014, 4:06:18 AM2 votes

To be fair a lot of the issues with lag and disconnects could be on the players side personal I have very few problems with the client.

Other than the community of meta dictators and rager and other people who take the game to seriously and cause it be a toxic environment. (mute all is your friend) as well as some complaints with some skins / lack of skins that i like,

My personal opinion find the actual game fun.

** I have more complaints about the community than i do with Riot personally.**

I know somewhere there is a game better than league thats f2p and dota is a game I used to play.

BraindrilledLOL12/22/2014, 2:33:33 AM2 votes

This is like one of the largest free to play online games that I know of, and look how popular it is! There are so many people playing this game everyday....I can understand the issues they might run into but I do have to start to wonder why more money isn't spent on finding resolutions to these networking and server issues on their end. I'd rather see a fix to that than a brand new summoners rift, or a new skin every week....

jimmylism12/22/2014, 3:01:22 AM2 votes

Well to be fair, the people that work in the skins department is separate from the networking and gameplay department. You can't expect someone who design the skin to fix leaverbuster or networks problems.

SelflessTeammate12/22/2014, 7:35:00 PM2 votes

In fairness, while I absolutely agree, it's not really a valid comparison between the two companies. Valve didn't start with DOTA 2, obviously.

They also made Half-Life. And Half-Life 2. Also Portal and Portal 2. They're one of the only companies, if not the only company, expected to create perfection each and every time they create a game. Which is why they focus almost 100% on offsetting the gravity of the earth from all the cash flying into their pockets from Steam.

Nagirah12/22/2014, 10:31:51 PM2 votes

I never get any of these problems so these all these threads confuse me a bit. Is it something just in NA and not on euwest?

28446325_DEL6/16/2016, 1:26:13 PM1 votes

All a bunch of valid points below.

I only posted this here because making a new thread is pointless when the title so aptly describes the overall point i'm getting at.

I tend to think riot games just plain sucks. they had a good idea that they sucked at executing. This is Like the Batman vs Superman (2016) of games.

....you make a game free to play and charge for just about everything else, you also take extra precautions to make sure people cant "pay-to-win", that's all fine and dandy. You make a game free-to-play of-course many will play it, even the undesirables. That's great cause it means a better chance someone will buy crap, and you can generate revenue.

Now i have played only about 120 matches or so, and this is a player that has payed you for your useless crap and has used all his refunds refunding that crap when you gimped the champions or when i found that champion just became super weak to the new champion everyone is using....

Here's my first reason in why you suck....3 refunds for life? your kidding right? do you know the term "customer appreciation"? Do you know that that's not a physical commodity? It cost only what you paid your CG programmers, developers, and artists....it's ridiculous i even have to mention this. Name another MMO that only allows 3 refunds EVER. you have shot yourself in the foot with this one, i know i will never give you another $, and i know many of my friends wont be neither, if we want one of your champions we will build IP, we never want your skins....there weak sauce. "you mean for 10$ i can glow and shit??!?!?" "yep, but only until we change the graphic on it, sometimes the models looks nothing like the artwork....and sometimes it looks almost identical to the original skin (Nasus\ Pharaoh Nasus)"

This also breaks shit, like my mental health, i'm extremely OCD...just looking at how many tier 2 and 1 glyphs and seals i have quite litteraly gives me the spins (if you don't have OCD then i don't expect you to fully understand how terrible it is when you have the need to consolidate something, but can't)....and i can't even refund them for what's supposed to be my new norm after 20, and screw getting rid of them for free, i need them until i get the overpriced tier 3.

My bottom line for this point, Riot shouldn't limit refunds to people who spend money and support them, its redundant....especially when you loose nothing refunding a digital, weightless, product for currency you can only spend on League....for more weightless, digital CONTENT! (some of which was paid for on a company level long ago)

That's just the tip of the iceberg, the bigger problems are yet to be listed. You remember how i said something about undesirables earlier? Well those are your 7 out of 10 in PVP players....yes the're that abundant in regular league.....not ranked, because you have to wade and rage through over 200 matches to get to level 30 just to play ranked, and that's if you play decently, don't buy boosts, and make one good win everyday. With all that in mind, do you really think you created a good atmosphere for a cooperative game? Especially when its imperative to communicate and use teamwork. If your the only competent player on the team then chances are the other team will recognize this and simply team kill your ass anytime your trying to be productive. AND WORSE i have ran into MANY occasions when in asking for help i was either completely ignored or simply told "your using (insert champion here) you should be able to do that"...i won't even go any further on this...i understand there is a punishment system at play, but from what i have read and seen, its broken, it works rarely, and when it does the severity is uncalled for, whats more important....theirs no immediate response....no matter what your stuck with those shit players in that shit match until the end....whenever that may be (usually 50 mins when that happens). Seriously why would you perma ban someone based off of half a story? I think punishment for verbal altercations is ridiculous....just set up a method to were those guys wont see each other in game again if they choose not to.

So if your still with me i have my final point to make on why Riot Games is the worst MMO creator of all time. This ones easy, i know a certain other game that if they had a thread with this much negativity someone would step in, write on here, and tell everyone what they are going to do to rectify the situation....not ignore it like you do....just sweep it under the rug and release some more skins. NO, they would actually change content, change methods, move mountains....and i'm not talking about offended people...offended people should not play competitive games....PERIOD I have read what your moderator and GM responses look like...the're savage...not in the good way....like a 'cow took a shit in my cereal' kinda way. I've notice your responses looks immature as hell (like your e-mailed response to Dunkey) "nope, your toxic"....ridiculous.... I hope you plan to answer some of these questions.

How does Riot Games plan to handle this? Do you listen to your players?..the ones that have lives i mean Do you ever value their opinion when their opinion isn't based on how "booty tickled" they got? cause World of Warcraft is awesome....there isn't a thread like this...not because they hide it, just because when there is, they take care of it quickly. Most problems are solved in game, they don't cut corners on making a player feel appreciated, they don't post up gimmics every month to try and make a better sell point...trying to force crap on us, the player.

like the personal store shit...that was the lamest attempt to get people to buy skins ever. I understand being behind on sales...but why don't just give some freebies every once in a while, i promise if you give people hextech chests and keys after every match your wallet wont shrink....

Either way balls in your court Riot Games. What inaction will you take next?
