The direction Mejai's took today is not good. (Back to being only good on Janna and Lux)

They doubled the stacks on assists (from 1 to 2), while increasing the penalty for death from 8 to 10 stacks .

This brings it back encouraging super safe gameplay and easy assist grabbing, rather than risk taking on a bet of a 2:1 K/D or better. It will go back to seeing most use on champions who already have super safe gameplay and no-risk assist grabbing - Janna and Lux.

The reduction in potential slot efficiency is a total slap on the wrist for any champion considering on betting on its efficacy as well. Why spend gold on something that isn't cost effective then, and will never be slot effective, unless its cost effectiveness is nearly guaranteed.

Champion's that would have risked to invest in it will now just spend their money to secure their lead. Rather than an item for High Risk/ High reward gameplay, it's back to only seeing use for Low Risk/ High Reward assist and back line siege gameplay.
