Why URGOT, is the BEST CHAMPION IN LEAGUE OF LEGENDS

Urgot ... at first glance, he is just another champion, nothing to special. It's when you look at him closer, that you realize... he's disgusting. Why would anyone ever want to play this guy in the first place. He is very unpopular but why? He is one of the oldest champions in the game, so players are definitely familiar with him, so why has so much grief been placed on to him? Why is he the butt of so many jokes? In fact, he is actually very popular in competitive play, but is obscenely unpopular, pretty much everywhere else.

LORE: Once a proud warrior of Noxus, Urgot was not really revered for his skill, or his smarts, but the fact he just did not die. While he did do some major damage out on the battlefield, he did not take much care in protecting himself either, which led to him... basically becoming a walking tumor, (I mean look at him) so, Noxus knowing Urgot was finally incapable of doing anything of military use, appointed him as an executioner, as he apparently was not done killing people. Since Urgot was a battle hardened veteran, he was occasionally paired with other fleets to act as a guiding hand. But, one day, Urgot had managed to capture JarvanIV Jarvan IV, which would have happend to be the best moment of his career, however, he was to sustain one more, particularly fatal injury. Getting cut in two Sliced in half like pepperoni by the one and only...Garen Garen, The Might of Demacia, with his iconic battle cry, DEMACIIAAAA!!! Who just so happend to bust into the room the moment he was about to kill him, like, timing...right? So, now technically dead Noxus decided to hand his corpse over to some crazy-ass necromancers. Instead of actually giving a proper send off to someone who had fought for their country for a long time... typical, because we all send our war heroes to the organ bank right? Thoughtful- but I do not think Urgot had the best donors in the first place.

But even the necromancers had trouble with his battered remains, so instead of getting put to work by some dark magics, he was then placed into the very suggestible hands of a Zaun Professor of the name... Stanwick Pididly. Oh, man that name makes me laugh- any who, Pididly thinks he will turn Urgot into a tumor with a large knife cannon, that trots around on 4 wimpy metal legs, in comparison to his fat complexion, which is probably mostly just bits and pieces of metal he had lying around, since he could not afford to make him a full-blown Frankenstein. While this has a justified point to his appearance, because this is actually the bottom-feeding work of Viktor, since I am pretty sure he is also the guy who took all the credit for making Blitzcrank Blitzcrank, so we can get an idea of how the Professor gets by.

So with his own version of necromancy, Pididly turned Urgot into his own little ugly henchmen, who either did, or did not remember who had killed him, because his lore is pretty ambiguous in the detail,

Now, as much machine as man, with necromantic energies coursing through his metal veins, Urgot searches for the man who ended his life.

Now I am no expert on the human brain, but is it plausible that Urgot could not remember anything about his life- it's a fair question, I think, because memories are a like an electric pulse that fires through the brain. Do those electric impulses fade away after the body is presumably dead? He does have electrified rods sticking out of his back so... Like, Urgot would have had to been a hunk of decaying meat for a while right? They didn't just summoner 12 teleport him into Pididly's office? Can Necromancer's do that? Not sure that is their particular field of work, but hey, they could have just stuck him in a freezer and shipped him over, so beats me.

Alright enough with the anatomy talk, let's get down to business; Urgot, the Headsman's Pride, clearly has some sort of beef with Demacia, other than being a part of a campaign that wages war against them for, probably a long time, so his main focus is to get revenge. I would probably be pretty pissed if I was cut in half and then forced to live again forever as a freak of nature. Completely understandable.

Game Play: One of the reasons Urgot is probably so low in popularity, is that his versatility in laning phase. You can take him top, mid, and bot as an adc, and make it work. Another reason Urgot is unpopular, is that he is ranged...but you build him like a bruiser. While he has the shortest attack range for any ranged champion in the game, its still more range than any melee champion has, unless you are Elise Elise, Gnar Gnar, or Jayce Jayce, but they are a special case. Urgot is not renowned for his burst, not much for anything, but that is where his power lies. No one expects Urgot to deal as much damage as he deals, no one expects him to sustain as much damage as he takes. He is like the ultimate trap card, because not a lot of people know how to work around a snowballing Urgot (if there is such a thing), and if Thunder Lord's is what he is running, you better watch out.

His passive Zaun-Touched Bolt Augmenter, reduces damage dealt by enemies he hits by 15% for 2.5 seconds. So the more you get into his face the less damage you will deal. It is a pretty useless passive in the eye's of many, but the damage mitigation is more helpful than they would think.

His Q, Acid Hunter, is the peanut butter in his PB&J sandwich. It has decent range, deals physical damage, and it has a really short cool down, so expect him to use it often, also since it refunds half it's Mana cost (20) for killing it's target.

His W, Terror Capacitor, is his primary sustain ability. It shields him for 80% of his AP, and 8% of his maximum Mana. Which is just another reason for Urgot to always rush item 3004 Manamune on him, or even item 3003 Archangel's Staff if you are feeling extra cocky. Since Urgot is a Mana whore, any item that supplies him with more Mana is almost always a must buy. Additionally to giving him a shield for 5 seconds, his basic attacks and Acid Hunter's will slow any target hit by 40% at max rank. As for his PB&J sandwich, you could call this the bread, because it's what holds him together.

His E, Noxian Corrosive Charge, is the Jam, in his PB&J sandwich, as it is an aoe spell that decreases enemies armor, and if you don't purchase item 3071 The Black Cleaver on him, you might as well not buy it on Darius Darius, as it is essential for Urgot. By making them more susceptible to physical damage, this will deal 60% of his AD over 5 seconds. What is so great about this ability is that landing this on any enemy enables him to lock on to them, an unavoidable burst of damage as long as you are in range, (which there is a LOT of) and is a large reason he is able to harass his lane enemies so easily, denying them potential cs, and granting you more for the taking.

His R (Ultimate), Hyper-Kinetic Positional Reverser, is perhaps the most underrated Ultimate Ability in the entire game. Urgot locks onto an enemy, suppressing them as he channels for 1.5 seconds, and after the short duration, they swap places. Any enemies around the area Urgot has Ulted, are inspired to flee, (basically fear) and at max rank, takes 50% reduced damage for 5 seconds (see a theme here?). Remember, this is at the **start **of the duration, not the end. Along with all of this, his initial target is slowed by 40%. Activating his W afterwards, and Urgot is denying so much damage to him, it's insane. Not to mention the added slow from his Ult slowing his enemy down for a total of 80%!

The number of things Urgot can pull of with this Ultimate are numerous, from edgy escapes to catching an out of line adc for his team, hell even getting over a wall if executed correctly, it seem's like there is nothing The Headsman's Pride can't do.

Individually, his abilities are nothing special. But its together, that they real start to shine. His Q is useless without his E, and his W is useless without his Q, and Urgot might as well not even start to Ult unless his W is available. All of his abilities combo together make for one, devestatingly, salty PB&J sandwich, that is sure to give your enemies nausea.

But I came here to prove a that Urgot is worthy to be meta, and he is worthy to be loved, worthy to enter an arena full of champions like Yasuo Yasuo, Zed Zed, and even the infamous penta-killer herself Katarina Katarina... more often than never, as you all know about the Assassin's Rework, and I believe Urgot, has the potential, to shit, on ALL of them. Ekko Ekko vs Urgot? Who wins. Urgot wins, not even a redo button on a champion can save this slippery AP assassin from Urgot's wrath, and trust me, Ekko attempts to stomp on an Urgot in lane- especially and Urgod player on the scene, is downright laughable.

While it has been confirmed that RIOT is reworking Urgot some time in the distant future, I sense no need for people to not start insta-locking Urgot mid any game they play as of now. So I encourage you, fellow League players, or even just browsers, to play Urgot, and maybe- just maybe, take some more time to give some attention to champions who don't see a lot of the spotlight, and most of all, have a damn. good. time.

Thank you, P.S Recommended Urgot Builds
